On the afternoon of September 11, an event was held at Tokyo Tower in Minato Ward, Tokyo, as part of the upcoming Autumn Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign, which began on September 21.
Holding a white basket, Risa Yamamoto (26) handed out bags containing traffic safety guidebooks to each visitor one by one.

That day, she was serving as the one-day police chief of the Atago Police Station.

Yamamoto, now in her third year at Nippon TV, appears as the Sunday assistant on “Going! Sports & News” and the Tuesday news anchor on “Miyaneya.”

“During her time at Kokugakuin University, she won the Miss Contest Grand Prix and was part of Sprout, the student division of Cent. Force,” says a TV programming executive.

“She had already been active as a free announcer—working as a student reporter for Mezamashi TV (Fuji TV), a caster on Hayadoki! (TBS), and as a radio personality on Gee Up Sprout. She had been attracting attention since her student days.”

At the event’s observation deck, encouraged by the police mascot Pipo-kun, Yamamoto addressed visitors:

“I hope everyone practices good traffic manners with kindness and mutual consideration.”

After attending a traffic safety class to learn about proper bicycle-riding rules, she moved to the Tokyo Tower plaza, where she personally handed out awareness goods to visitors while cheerfully greeting them.

Some visitors approached her directly to ask for two-shot photos, and she responded with a smile.
Her bright expression drew comments such as “She’s so cute!” and “Her smile is healing.”

If Risa Yamamoto herself asked you to drive safely, no doubt every driver would be extra careful behind the wheel!
