Ko Shibasaki, Sara Minami, and Natsuki Deguchi Shine in Glamorous Dresses at Busan Film Festival

Minami Wows in a Boldly Cut Camisole Dress
On September 17 in Busan, South Korea, Asia’s largest film festival, the 30th Busan International Film Festival, officially opened.
On the first day, Kō Shibasaki (44) appeared on the red carpet for the opening ceremony, radiating elegance in a fully lace dress intricately embroidered with beads, exuding a luxurious and sophisticated aura.
“Shibasaki stars in the film Brother Sized to Carry (Ani wo Motsu), selected for the festival’s ‘OPEN CINEMA’ section, set to release on November 28. The movie is based on Riko Murai’s nonfiction essay My Brother’s End, depicting the story of a sister, Riko, played by Shibasaki, whose life has been shaped and often disrupted by her estranged older brother, beginning with his death,” explained a film magazine writer.
When Shibasaki appeared on the red carpet, the venue erupted with cheers and applause. After the ceremony, she shyly commented,
“This was my first time participating in the Busan International Film Festival. Walking the red carpet was so glamorous and lively, and being watched by so many people was a little embarrassing (laughs),” (from Crank-in!, September 18).
Despite her modesty, the audience was captivated by her top actress presence.
Equally noteworthy were Sara Minami (23) and Natsuki Deguchi (23), who starred in All Greens (Banji Kaichō), officially selected for the ‘VISION’ section, showing both freshness and elegance.
Minami wore a daring camisole dress with a plunging neckline, while Deguchi opted for a strapless mini dress showcasing her shoulders and long legs, creating a youthful yet refined look.
“All Greens is based on the youth novel of the same name by Dou Haki, winner of the 28th Matsumoto Seicho Prize. Minami plays Hidemii Boku, a girl aspiring to become a rapper, and Deguchi portrays Miruku Yaguchi, a sociable yet internally conflicted film-loving student occupying a high rank in her school social hierarchy,” the film writer added.
Although initially nervous as they began walking the red carpet, both Minami and Deguchi managed to wave and smile, showing poise under the roaring applause.
Fans eagerly await the Japanese release of their films.
