Even while waiting at the traffic light, she kept talking and Lily listened quietly. Their intimate closeness hinted at the depth of their relationship.

Lily’s partner is a beauty who won the runner-up prize at the Miss Contest

The number one most popular comedian has finally chosen his private partner.

A weekend in mid-August. Despite the sweltering tropical night, a well-known Korean restaurant in Tokyo’s Minato Ward was bustling with energy. Among the crowd, a couple entered together. The man, disguised with a cap and mask, still stood out with his trademark blond hair and sharp, handsome eyes. It was Lily (41), the boke of comedy duo Mitorizu.

“After reaching the finals of the M-1 Grand Prix three times, he moved to Tokyo in 2022 and quickly rose to stardom. Now he’s one of the hottest comedians, with five regular shows, including two of his own programs. Lily, in particular, enjoys immense popularity among women thanks to his good looks. In their popular skit ‘South Osaka’s Trash Couple,’ he plays the girlfriend role—and with his refined features, he truly looks like a woman. Just recently, his partner Shintaro Moriyama (39) praised him on a variety show, saying, ‘He’s attractive just by breathing. The most popular comedian with women,’” said an executive at a major entertainment agency.

On this night, Lily was accompanied by a petite beauty. One might expect him to embody the phrase womanizing fuels comedy, but he seemed different.

Upon leaving the restaurant, Lily tightly held the hand she reached out to him. While waiting at the traffic light, he listened quietly as she chatted away. Then, suddenly, she dashed off. Lily, desperately holding up his slipping pants with one hand, chased after her and grabbed her arm with a playful “I won’t let you get away now” air, before the two happily entered a high-rise apartment together.

Throughout the evening, Lily was at her mercy, yet his constant smile showed a comfortable closeness—like a seasoned comedy duo, but in romance.

So who is the beauty who’s captured Lily’s heart?

“She’s freelance announcer Nao Imagawa (28). Back at Doshisha University, she won runner-up in a Miss Contest. She’s currently with Cent. Force, appearing on programs like TBS NEWS and the sports show S☆1 (TBS). The two first met two years ago when Imagawa was working at Okayama Broadcasting. Since Lily is from Okayama, they filmed an on-location segment together there. Lily, smitten and calling her exactly my type!, actively pursued her, which led to their relationship. After Imagawa moved to Tokyo this March, they began living together. He’s even informed his comedy partner Moriyama about the relationship, so Lily is serious about her,” said an acquaintance of Lily.

An bold marriage declaration

Late August found the two heading out from their love nest for a cozy yakitori date. On the way home, they naturally held hands, and with shared keys in play, Imagawa was sometimes spotted returning alone when Riri wasn’t around. On stage he may play half of the “Trashy Couple,” but off stage the two were living as a “lovey-dovey couple.”

Still, there was room for doubt. On TV, Riri often leaned into a bad boyfriend persona, even once topping a poll on Imada Koji no Netabare MTG as the Yoshimoto comedian most likely to get caught in a scandal next.

So is he truly serious about Imagawa? Confronted after their date, Riri didn’t hesitate:

“Yes, we’re dating.”

he said plainly. Asked what drew him in, he admitted,

“Well, her looks, and she’s just a really good person.”

On living together and marriage plans:

“No specific timeline, but I’d like to marry someday. If possible, with her. Before I die, at least,” he added with a laugh.

Though he joked, declaring marriage openly in front of her showed the kind of straightforward sincerity that helps explain his popularity. When the reporter offered, “We wish you both happiness,” the couple bowed politely and walked off together.

Later, when their agencies—Yoshimoto Kogyo and Cent. Force—were asked to confirm, both replied simply: “We leave private matters to the individual.”

From all appearances, this couple’s mitorizu for the future seems to point clearly toward the altar.

The couple walked home from the yakitori shop, hand in hand, with Riri unconcerned about disguising himself this time.
At one crossing, Imagawa suddenly broke into a dash as the light began to flash, leaving Riri scrambling after her.
When approached directly, Imagawa looked startled, but Riri—ever unshaken—countered with a grin: “Where do you guys even get these stories? Where from?” He fielded the questions without a trace of hesitation.
