The Untold Story of Shuri and Ryoki Miyama’s Wedding — Learning from Yutaka Mizutani

Miyama, who was even nicknamed the 100-million-yen guy
The good news came three months later—
It was revealed that Ryoki Miyama (26), a member of BE:FIRST and actor, and actress Shuri (34) had already married. The couple issued a joint statement:
“We are pleased to announce that Ryoki Miyama and Shuri have registered their marriage. We are also expecting a new life between us.”
They continued:
“Above all, we wanted to share the news after the safe birth of our first child, but we decided to announce it now to ensure a calm environment during the pregnancy. Our parents and everyone around us are also looking forward to the arrival of this new life.”
Shuri’s parents, Yutaka Mizutani (73) and Ran Ito (70), are also said to be celebrating the news.
The path to announcing the marriage was not without complications. Initially, the announcement was planned for early May, right after Golden Week, but a past issue with YouTuber “R-chan,” who had previously dated Miyama, emerged. R-chan claimed that she had provided over 100 million yen to Miyama during their relationship, only to be suddenly cut off.
R-chan exposed Miyama’s disloyalty on social media. Miyama admitted his mistakes and apologized, but online he earned the nickname the 100-million-yen guy.
Afterwards, Miyama announced his independence from his management agency, Flash Up etoile, which handled his acting career. As a BE:FIRST member, he also paused his activities after the conclusion of the world tour on July 5. A source familiar with the situation explained:
“The families had already met, and the official announcement was planned for May, but the issue with R-chan surfaced. Miyama faced intense criticism, forcing the marriage announcement to be postponed. Some speculated the wedding might be canceled, but in reality, there was no option other than to proceed with the marriage.”
The most decisive factor for continuing the relationship was Shuri’s pregnancy. According to an entertainment reporter:
“Mizutani-san and Ito-san adore Shuri. They were concerned that she had no romantic rumors, and at one-point Mizutani-san was quietly looking for a good partner for her. So, when they learned about her pregnancy, they were reportedly overjoyed.”
Ryoki Miyama, aside from being a member of BE: FIRST, was affiliated with the talent agency Flash Up etoile for his acting career before announcing his independence from the agency
The fact that a new life is growing in her womb outweighed everything else. Despite the scandal surrounding Miyama,
“The families prioritized the unborn child above all. They kept the heavily pregnant Shuri away from the whole commotion so she wouldn’t be burdened,” said a sports newspaper reporter.
Shuri is expected to give birth later this year and will start maternity leave this fall. Her last work before the leave is the theatrical version of “Kyōjō”, starring Takuya Kimura (52), in which Shuri plays a role without any action scenes to avoid affecting her pregnancy.
“Even Takuya Kimura reportedly congratulated her on the marriage and pregnancy,” said an entertainment industry source.
As for Miyama, who will become a father, he has been eager about his acting career in recent years. An entertainment industry insider commented:
“After his wife gives birth, Miyama will likely resume acting under the guardianship of Yutaka Mizutani. For the time being, he will be under the supervision of Mizutani and Ran Ito, essentially going through a period of training.”
Questions were sent via email to BMSG, the agency of BE: FIRST, asking about Miyama’s potential return to the group and whether his acting career would be managed under Yutaka Mizutani’s personal office. No response was received by the deadline.
In hindsight, knowing Miyama’s past tendencies early might turn out to have been a blessing. According to a music industry source:
“Even Miyama seems to have realized that this marriage and pregnancy are life-changing events.”
He will now have no choice but to show his reformed self to the child about to be born.
