Crowds Cheer Ayami Nakajo’s Stunning Look During Hibiya Drama Shoot

“Her face is so small!”
Early August, on a weekend night. At Tokyo Midtown Hibiya’s plaza (Chiyoda Ward), glowing with vivid illuminations, a drama shoot was underway, drawing a large crowd.
And then she appeared—a nine-head-tall beauty: Ayami Nakajō (28).
“They were filming for the October-season TBS drama Then Why Don’t You Try Making It Yourself, a scene with lead actor Ryōma Takeuchi (32) standing in the plaza in a suit. Many onlookers had gathered just to catch a glimpse of him, but suddenly, from another direction, came an ear-splitting cheer, almost like a scream. Turning to look, we saw Nakajō walking forward, guided by staff,” said an eyewitness at the scene.
Wearing a sleeveless top, white pants, and a red scarf around her neck, Nakajō looked absolutely glamorous. From the crowd came shouts of “What a figure!” and “Her face is so small!” The buzz never died down.
“The drama is a live-action adaptation of Natsuko Taniguchi’s manga of the same name, which has sold over 400,000 copies. Summer’s Ayumi Yamagishi (played by Kahō, 34), a woman who has lost herself in always putting her partner first, is pitted against Katsuo Ebihara (Takeuchi), a man with a ‘women should cook’ patriarchal mindset. Nakajō plays Tsubaki Kashiwakura, whom Ebihara meets on a matching app and who becomes his very first female friend,” explained a TV magazine writer.
Speaking about her role, Nakajō commented on TBS’s official site (August 12):
“When I heard Tsubaki’s character profile, I felt there were parts of her I could relate to. I think I’m similar to Tsubaki in that I also tend to say what I think too directly, so I’m really looking forward to playing her. I’d be happy if I could grow through this role.”
With Tsubaki being so close to her real personality, Nakajō’s performance is sure to draw attention.
