Natsuko Yokozawa: Unstoppable in the Competitive World of Mom Talents

In the 2025 First Half TV Appearance Rankings released by M Data, Natsuko Yokozawa (35) ranked 14th overall among women with 165 appearances, and 3rd in the female comedian category.

“Yokozawa gave birth to her first child in 2020, her second in 2021, and her third in 2023. For her to appear on TV this many times while raising three young children who still need constant care is nothing short of remarkable. Her success as a mom has been truly eye-catching,” —Producer at a key TV network.

Yokozawa is in an unbeatable position. On “After the Husband Falls Asleep”, a show she co-hosts with fellow leading mom-talent Mikitty, her candid side—such as bursting into tears during child-rearing talks—has been well received.

Natsuko Yokozawa hails from the 15th class of Yoshimoto Kogyo’s NSC Tokyo, which produced stars like New York, Okazu Club, and Onigoe Tomahawk. Even among her peers, her talent stood out.

“Back in training school, people were already saying, ‘There’s this amazing female solo comedian.’ Yoshimoto valued her so highly that by her second year, they put her in a late-night sketch show they were co-producing, as a regular alongside Chocolate Planet,” —TV writer.

Now active in the fiercely competitive mom-talent scene, she remains in a league of her own.

“She’s expressive, great with reactions, and skilled at food reporting. She can handle anything—from variety-heavy shows to informational programs—without a hitch, and she has a genuinely good personality. No one has a bad word to say about her,” —Production company director.

A key reason she’s built such a firm position as a mom-talent, according to a key TV producer, is the wealth of relatable real-life stories she brings to the table.

“Despite working in the glamorous entertainment world, she attended over 100 matchmaking parties from age 21. In fact, she met her husband—an ordinary man—through such a party. That kind of down-to-earth sensibility makes her comments relatable, while her self-deprecating humor gets laughs. She was even student council president, so she’s responsible and polite—qualities that endear her to veterans and senior talents.”

Yokozawa also holds a babysitter qualification and even set up a temporary childcare facility at Yoshimoto’s Omiya Rakuen Yoshimoto Theater, personally working as a sitter.

“Her co-hosted show with Miki Fujimoto (40), ‘After the Husband Falls Asleep’ (TV Asahi), gets strong viewership on TVer. Their remarks often make the news. Because she’s long shown support for moms—working as a sitter, connecting with mothers even while single—she’s extremely appealing to sponsors.

In fact, Yokozawa’s rise as a mom comedian may have pushed Miyuki Oshima (45) of Mori San Chū to shift focus toward music and acting,” —Production company director.

The only concern? Her three children are close in age.

“It’s the fate of mom talents—once the kids reach adolescence, using them in stories becomes off-limits. Since her husband is a private citizen, she can’t work as a husband-wife duo like Fujimoto does. With three kids, the no-kids-material period could drag on. She may need to reinvent her persona. That said, her youngest is only two, so she’s got another solid decade at the peak of the mom-talent world,” —TV writer.

Armed with her comedic skills, down-to-earth relatability, and likable personality, Yokozawa seems destined to reign at the top of another genre ten years from now.
