 It&#8217;s been a long time since I&#8217;ve been to a tournament, and to see him win right in front of my eyes was really emotional. On top of that, I can&#8217;t believe that Mr. Kitanofuji told me he was my fan!&#8221;
On January 23, at the first tournament of the New Year&#8217;s tournament, Mitakeumi (29) won his third Makuuchi title. Along with the birth of a new star, his mother, Margarita (51), attracted a lot of attention, and when her beautiful face was shown on NHK&#8217;s live broadcast, Kitanofuji, the commentator, could not hide his excitement saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m a fan.

Originally from the Philippines, Margarita came to Japan at the age of 20 and married Haruo Omichi, who runs a construction company. She now runs a hostess bar in her hometown of Nagano as a beautiful mama.
 Hisa-kun (real name: Hisashi) started wrestling at a local club when he was in elementary school. I never got angry with him when he lost, but his father used to make him practice his shimata in the yard (laughs).

While a student at Toyo University, he won the amateur yokozuna title. After graduation, he was scheduled to work for the Wakayama Prefectural Government, but decided to pursue sumo. Margarita says that she has always told her son, &#8220;Don&#8217;t be afraid to be active.
 Margarita says she has always told her son, &#8220;Even if he is successful and is admired, I always tell him, &#8216;Don&#8217;t become a nengu. I always tell him to be grateful to his supporters, fans, and instructors. I hope you will keep that attitude even if you become an ozeki.
Perhaps the secret of Mitakeumi&#8216;s strength is the presence of his mother who has taught him what is important as a human being.
