Wakana Aoi and Fūju Kamio Film Walking Scene in Shimbashi for October Double-Lead Drama

“Who is that handsome guy?”
In late July, on a bustling night in Shimbashi filled with office workers, a drama shoot was taking place on a nearby sidewalk. Staff members holding red signal lights stood at both ends of the walkway, stopping pedestrians. At the call of “Ready, start!” a group of men and women began walking side by side. At the center was Fūju Kamio (26).
“The filming was for the October season drama Even If All Love Ends (ABC TV / TV Asahi). It’s based on the short story collection of the same name by author Yozora Fuyuno, where each piece ends in just 140 characters. The series has sold a total of 550,000 copies across three volumes. The drama adapts eight of those episodes into a single story.
Kamio plays Mao Ōsaki, while Wakana Aoi (27) plays Yuu Hazawa, his high school classmate. Yuu feels destined when she sees Mao sketching, and the two start dating. But as they move on to university, they drift apart, and eventually enter the workforce. The story gently follows what becomes of their so-called ‘fated love.’” (TV magazine writer)
The rest of the cast has yet to be revealed, but the drama is said to depict the real romance patterns of eight men and women.
That day, Aoi was by Kamio’s side, along with several other cast members. Even among them, Kamio’s presence stood out—so much so that office workers watching the shoot were overheard saying things like, “Who’s that handsome guy?” and “Wow, his face is so beautiful!”
On the official drama website, Kamio shared the following message:
“There are many situations and depictions that anyone who has experienced love will be able to relate to. At the same time as I felt empathy, it also made my chest tighten. The character I play, Mao, is gentle, soft, but somehow elusive.”
Meanwhile, Aoi spoke about her first time co-starring with Kamio:
“I had seen him in other works and thought he had a unique atmosphere, maybe a little cool and distant. But in reality, he’s a very open and friendly person. Since we’re the same age, we’ve been able to work together and enjoy the set. I’m really looking forward to filming more scenes between Mao and Yuu.”
From her comments, it’s clear this drama will be a work filled with Kamio’s charm.
