Whirlwind Wedding Couple Kyon & Matsuki Rina Spotted on Tropical Night Newlywed Date
Flirting even while waiting at the checkout in the supermarket
On a sweltering night in late July, when just standing still made sweat pour from the skin and left the body sticky, a couple strolled close together, hands intertwined, unbothered by the oppressive heat.
With a radiant smile, the very picture of happiness, carrying a supermarket bag filled with groceries, was Kyon (37) of the comedy duo Cotton. Walking by his side was his real-life partner, talent Matsuki Rina (28). “
“I’m sorry to intrude with personal matters, but I’m happy to announce that I’ve married Matsuki Rina, whom I’ve been seeing for some time! I truly apologize for the sudden news!”
So wrote Kyon on Instagram on July 3 this year, suddenly revealing his marriage and surprising fans—a memory still fresh.
Cotton was formed in 2012 (performing under the name Rafurekuran until March 2021). They were runners-up in King of Conte 2022 and finalists again in 2024, a fast-rising and talented duo. Kyon is known as the “boke” (funny man), with his round eyes and distinct widow’s peak.
Matsuki, who balances her talent work with serving as a tourism ambassador for her hometown Okayama, reportedly met him through work. On her own Instagram, she recalled:
“I noticed a bald guy standing out at my local station and reached out right then and there.”
“He’s just so good at breaking the ice with people—I thought, wow, he really blends in effortlessly.”

Just minutes before the hand-holding scene described earlier, the newlyweds were spotted at a Tokyo supermarket. Lost in their affectionate banter, they seemed oblivious to their surroundings—so much so that, according to one onlooker, they didn’t even notice the superstar standing right behind them.
“While waiting in line, I saw Kyon and a petite, pretty woman giggling together at the register. But right behind them was a famous male artist. He looked a bit puzzled watching them fumble about [laughs].” (eyewitness)
The artist quietly paid and left without making a scene.
True to their fluffy, lighthearted image—much like the name Cotton—the couple continues to share lovey-dovey snapshots on social media, basking in their happiness. With their first child due this fall, it seems joy upon joy awaits them. Here’s wishing them a long and happy future together!
