17-Year-Old Son of Nanase Aikawa Turns Heads in Junon Boy Contest

The “Junon Super Boy Contest”, a gateway for young actors that has produced stars like Teppei Koike, Shohei Miura, and Masaki Suda, is now in its 38th edition. Each year, over 10,000 applicants enter, and after intense screening, the field has been narrowed down to the Best 30.

On August 15, a “Best 30 Unveiling Event” is scheduled. The final selection will narrow the group to Best 10, with an additional five comeback candidates, creating a total of 15 finalists who will advance to the final competition.

Amid the contest, all eyes are on Rin Masuko (17).

“Rin is actually the second son of Nanase Aikawa (50), famous for hits like Yume Miru Shoujo Ja Irarenai and Troublemaker. He’s currently a 17-year-old high school senior, 176 cm tall, and very handsome. He definitely has more aura than the others,” says an entertainment industry source.

In September 2024, Aikawa posted a photo on Instagram showing herself with her two sons, while the face of her third child, a daughter, was hidden. She wrote:

“My kids’ birthdays. Somehow, you’ve grown so reliable. Thank you for always trying to understand and support me.”

According to a music industry source, “Aikawa seems thrilled about Rin’s rapid rise and immediately shared the news with acquaintances. Rin is already active as a drummer in his mother’s backing band and is the most engaged in entertainment among her three children. She must be utterly fond of him.”

Celebrity children often attract attention in this contest. Last year, Shosuke Tanihara’s eldest son, Nanoto Tanihara, won the Photogenic Award. This year, another prominent second-generation contestant is creating a buzz.

The website attempted to contact Aikawa’s agency for confirmation and comments, but no response was received by the deadline.

Rin Masuko’s Junon Super Boy profile states:

“I am chasing my dream to become a globally recognized artist and actor.”

Whether Rin can claim the Junon Boy title and soar into the entertainment world remains to be seen.
