Ex-Prime Minister’s Office Official on Trial for Non-Consensual Sex with Two Girls: Victim Details “4,000 Yen Compensated Dating”

A molestation case that even the Chief Cabinet Secretary commented on

“It was disgusting, but I thot at the time, ‘It’s okay because I’m getting paid.'”

When asked by the defense attorney, “How do you feel about the defendant now?” the girl who was sexually assaulted by the 40-year-old man at the time of the incident replied as follows.

“At the time of his arrest, Defendant Koizumi was in charge of security at the Prime Minister’s Office as a secretary, which led to then-Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi issuing a statement saying, ‘This is truly regrettable. We will handle this strictly within the Cabinet Secretariat, taking into account the future progress of the investigation.'” (National Newspaper Social Affairs Reporter)

On July 16th, the fourth hearing for Defendant Koizumi was held at the Yokohama District Court. In previous hearings, Defendant Koizumi has admitted to filming obscene videos of Ms. A and Ms. B, but has reserved his plea on the charge of sexual assault.

On this day, B’s witness examination was conducted via video link. According to B, the defendant, Koizumi, introduced himself as “Hiro” and said he was 26 years old.

In response to the prosecutor’s questions, B began by talking about the first time he met “Hiro.”

“The first time I met Hiro was during spring break before I entered middle school. It started when a classmate told me there was someone who would pay you to talk to them, and since I thot it would be good to get paid, I decided to meet them. The first time we met, I went with that friend, introduced myself, talked, got paid, and then we parted ways.”

The witness testified that after contacting the defendant Koizumi several times on Instagram, they began communicating via LINE. They then met with the friend who introduced them to the defendant Koizumi about three times, after which they started meeting the defendant alone, and it was no longer just about talking.

 

“We were supposed to get 4,000 yen between the two of us.”

“After I started meeting him alone, he started kissing me, and eventually things heated up and he started touching my breasts and genitals. I didn’t like it, but I put up with it because I was getting paid. I was getting 2,000 to 3,000 yen each time I met him.”

Then, in mid-May 2024, when the incident occurred, B went with A, who was one year younger, to meet Koizumi. A met Koizumi for the first time that day.

“Around that time, I started hanging out with A a lot, and when I told her about Hiro, saying, ‘He touches your chest and stuff, but you get paid,’ she said, ‘Okay, I’ll go,’ and we decided to meet him together. That day, we made plans beforehand and agreed to get 4,000 yen. Since we didn’t want to be touched for a long time, we decided to limit it to five minutes each.”

When they met up with Koizumi, who had come by car, one sat in the driver’s seat while the other sat in the backseat and was touched by Koizumi.

“We timed it for five minutes. I was kissed, my chest was touched, and a finger was inserted into my genital area. During that time, I was looking at my smartphone. Later, I heard that A had been penetrated by a private part.”

When the defense attorney asked, “What did you do after parting with Hiro?” B answered as follows.

“A and I went to a convenience store to buy snacks and ate them at a nearby park. After that, I had to go to cram school, so I went home first and then went to cram school.”

B stated that she continued to meet with Koizumi, the defendant, alongside A on subsequent days.

Finally, when the prosecutor asked, “Do you feel any resentment or anger toward Hiro?” she, who was unaware that she had been filmed, replied as follows.

“I find it extremely unforgivable that the video was taken without my consent.”

The prosecutor continued to ask, “Is there anything else you want to say?” and “Is there anything else besides the video and photos being taken?” but B only replied, “I’m okay.”

Perhaps B had convinced herself that the sexual assault, such as having her fingers inserted into her genital area, was something she had done in exchange for money. It cannot be denied that Koizumi’s crime of teaching a young girl to exchange her body for money is severe.
