“Go! Yes!!”

Shouting loudly from the stands with both hands raised in the air was Suzu Hirose (27).

On July 5th, a men’s basketball “Asia Cup warm-up match: Japan vs. Netherlands” was held at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena, and it was broadcast live by TV Asahi. Hirose appeared at the broadcast booth for the event.

“Hirose has been appointed as the ‘TV Asahi Basketball Special Booster’ for the ‘FIBA Asia Cup 2025.’ She first served as a booster during the ‘FIBA World Cup 2023,’ and following last year’s ‘Paris Olympics,’ this marks her third consecutive year,” said a sports newspaper reporter.

“Hirose was passionate about basketball from elementary school through the third year of junior high, and it’s said that her entry into showbiz came with the condition that it wouldn’t interfere with basketball. That’s how serious she was. Her skills and knowledge are well recognized. During the broadcast, she seemed to have great chemistry with TV Asahi announcer Shunpei Terakawa (37), and they were both very enthusiastic throughout the game.”

Before the game began, Hirose, wearing a pure white dress that nearly matched her pale skin, appeared with the deeply tanned announcer Terakawa, causing a wave of cheers from basketball fans. With a relaxed smile, Hirose conveyed the excitement of the venue.

Once the game started, she shouted just like at the beginning and pumped her fists in the air. In the past two years, Japan had won every game Hirose attended, earning her the nickname “Goddess of Victory.” However, this time, they narrowly lost with a score of 70–78.

At the final whistle, she clasped her hands behind her head, visibly showing her frustration. Every time her reactions were shown on the broadcast, social media lit up with comments like “Her visuals are dangerously stunning!” and “I’m more excited to see Suzu-chan than the match!”

Next time Hirose attends a game, we hope to see her flashing a radiant smile at the final whistle. For that to happen, we definitely want Team Japan to secure the win.
