In early June on a weekend, the concourse of Shin-Osaka Station was bustling with many people. Compared to Tokyo Station, there seemed to be more women dressed in flashy patterned clothing, but among them, one woman wearing an especially eye-catching, “American comic” style flashy T-shirt caught attention. It was actress Riisa Nakamura (35).

That day, Nakamura attended as a guest at the fashion brand PRADA’s art event “PRADA MODE Osaka,” held in Osaka. During the photo session, she appeared in a simple outfit of a pink blouse and beige pants, showing off her beautiful legs. On social media, comments praising her like “Too beautiful” and “Super cute, love her so much” flooded in.

Several hours later, Nakamura appeared at Shin-Osaka Station wearing sunglasses and a cap, paired with a flashy “American comic” patterned T-shirt and denim — an ultra-relaxed fashion style.

Nakamura has surprised FRIDAY readers before not only at events but also privately with her eccentric fashion choices. About her fashion, in a December 15, 2024 interview article with Mynavi News, she said:

“I think it’s important to wear what I like whenever I want. Even when I’m tired, it actually energizes me. Just that? You might think, but when I wear clothes I like or something that lifts my mood, even when I think ‘This is seriously tough.’ I can still manage to laugh somehow.”

Nakamura recently became independent from her agency Amuse in April after about 20 years. She plans to open a fan club within June as she moves forward with solo activities.

“It’s expected that her main activities for a while will be fashion events, commercials, and her YouTube channel ‘Risa Nakamura Desu.’ with over 2.11 million subscribers. Also, the special drama of the January drama ‘Futekisetsu ni mo Hodogaru!’ (TBS) she appeared in last year will air in April next year. As a talented actor, many are looking forward to her next work,” said a TV magazine writer.

On June 22 and 29, Nakamura narrated the documentary program “The Nonfiction” (Fuji TV). In the Mynavi News interview released on June 21 to coincide with this, she spoke about her outlook after going independent:

“I definitely want to keep doing what I love, and above all, I want everyone to laugh together. That’s it. Even if hard things happen, I plan to laugh it off with a ‘Seriously hilarious spirit’ (laugh).”

Indeed, not only her fashion but also her actions and mindset are boldly flashy.
