With a coffee in hand, a tall, well-built, and handsome man was striding confidently through Shinagawa Station — it was actor Hiroshi Tamaki (45).

On a night in mid-May, perhaps returning from work in the countryside, Tamaki appeared at the Shinkansen ticket gate of Shinagawa Station with his staff.

Tamaki provides the voice for Nyuu, a towel fairy, in the children’s film Shinapushu THE MOVIE: Pushu Hoppe Dancing PARTY, which was released on May 16. The program has been a regular feature on TV Tokyo since April 2020, earning popularity as a show that even infants can enjoy.

“In 2018, Tamaki married actress Haruka Kinami (39), and in August 2020, they welcomed their first child. When the movie adaptation of his child’s favorite show Shinapushu was decided, he personally wrote a letter to the producer expressing his desire to participate, even if it was just by providing a voice,” says a film magazine editor.

Thanks to that initiative, the character Nyuu was newly created for the film. Tamaki first voiced Nyuu in the 2023 movie Shinapushu THE MOVIE: Pushu Hoppe Nyuu World, and this marks his second time in the role.

This episode radiates Tamaki’s deep love for his family and affection for the show. While he might appear soft and doting in front of his child, at Shinagawa Station, Tamaki exuded undeniable handsome man charisma. He wore a white T-shirt layered with a black coat, and his broad chest was noticeable even from a distance. His jeans, adorned with text, were an ultra-rare collaboration between Comme des Garçons and Levi’s — a striking piece that only someone with Tamaki’s refined style could pull off effortlessly.

He was recently featured on the June 1st broadcast of Jonetsu Tairiku (TBS), where, during an interview while driving, he spoke about his appearance:

“People sometimes compliment me on my looks, but I tend to let it go in one ear and out the other. That’s something I happened to be born with from my parents, and it’s not something I use as a weapon. If you don’t properly cultivate your inner self, people will see right through you.”

Yet — it must be said — the sheer impact of his appearance remains undeniably impressive.
