<p> The beautiful women welcomed the reporters with their clear voices. They were employees of &#8220;Talk Navi&#8221; (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), a company that undertakes the hosting and PR agency businesses. Almost all of the company&#8217;s staff are &#8220;former female announcers&#8221; who were involved in announcing.</p>

<p> The company was established in March 2003. Kaori Hida, the president of the company, who herself was an announcer for Nippon Television Network Corporation&#8217;s Aomori Broadcasting System, says, &#8220;I was originally an announcer when I was around 30 years old.</p>

Their work as &#8216;players&#8217; has decreased dramatically, and they are often in agony. We thought it would be a good second career for these distressed female announcers.</span></p>
<p> Talk Navi, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in March of this year, currently has a staff of about 80, including outsourced workers. In addition to announcing for clients&#8217; new product launches, the company also provides communication training and press release writing services. What is the true face of a woman working for a company where she used to be a female announcer? Sayaka Yanagida, a former announcer for Nankai Broadcasting in Ehime Prefecture, tells her unique life story in her own words.</p>
<h2> My heart would race when I passed through Yurakucho.</h2>

<p><span class="strongInContent"> When I joined Nankai Broadcasting, I was immediately put in charge of a live public broadcasting crown program. I handled everything from planning to director duties all by myself. My days were busy and fulfilling, but in my late 20s, I began to feel uneasy about the fact that I had never left Ehime Prefecture. I felt a strong desire to work in a big city like Tokyo, so I took the plunge and left the company.&#8221;</span></p>
<p> Ms. Yanagida became a freelance announcer, but the daily life in Tokyo was not easy. There is one job that I will never forget. He was in charge of Nippon Broadcasting System&#8217;s &#8220;Show Up Nightly&#8221; professional baseball broadcast.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> I had zero knowledge of baseball and didn&#8217;t know the rules. I was in charge of announcing, so I was a wreck. I spent my days struggling with a player&#8217;s directory in my hand, and I cried tears of frustration every time the broadcast was over. Even now, when I pass by Yurakucho (Chiyoda Ward), where Nippon Broadcasting System is located, my heart sometimes pounds as I remember how nervous I was back then.</span></p>
<p> Mr. Yanagida is a man I admire. Ever since he saw the movie &#8220;Armageddon&#8221; starring Bruce Willis when he was a student, he has had a strong yearning for space. This yearning has now taken shape.</p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> When I returned to Ehime as an assistant announcer, I had the opportunity to host an event for JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui. Later that year, while touring the JAXA Space Center in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, I met again with people involved in the event. This connection led me to apply for a position as a JAXA invited staff member, and I ended up working as a public relations officer in the Manned Space Technology Division.</span></p>
<p><span class="strongInContent"> It was difficult to learn technical terms, but my days were fulfilling as I was in charge of planning and coordinating public relations for spacecraft and astronauts. After about five years of intense work, I decided to take a break and resigned from my job. &#8230;&#8230; When I had some free time, I felt the urge to speak again, so I applied for a job at &#8220;Talk Navi. I am now making the most of my experience as a publicist and announcer.</span></p>
<p> Talk Navi is an &#8220;announcer (speaker)&#8221; company that brings together a diverse group of women. The staff had an interesting and deep story to tell.</p>
