Fumino Kimura Spotted in Suit and Glasses at Shinjuku’s To-Yoko Showing Powerful Acting in July Drama Filming

Many foreign tourists and drunken patrons, and aggressive touts loudly calling out to them… In such a nighttime district, the person wearing a frightened expression is Fumino Kimura (37).
In mid-April, a large-scale drama shoot was taking place in Shinjuku Kabukicho’s so-called “To-Yoko.”
The set was filled with many extras dressed as foreign tourists, hosts, and touts. Outside the barricades, even more onlookers gathered. When the director called “Action,” at the center appeared Kimura in a stiff suit and glasses, a bandage on her forehead. Beside her was actor Ryosuke Mikata (32), also wearing a worried expression.
“It seemed to be filming for a July drama. There were about 50 extras, and including the crew, nearly 100 people — it was quite a large operation. Everyone was walking around with fans and handheld mini fans, dressed for midsummer. Among them, Kimura and Mikata stood out in their suits, even from a distance,” said one bystander.
The two were filming a scene where they walked through the crowded “To-Yoko,” looking confused as if searching for someone. Sweat appeared on Kimura’s forehead in a powerful performance. Actually, Kimura is also known as an Instagram influencer with many followers.
“Kimura is famous in the entertainment world for her excellent cooking skills, and since starting her Instagram in July 2014, she has posted daily homemade meals. She remarried a private man in March 2023 and had her first child the same year. Recently, she’s been sharing meals she makes for her child, gaining massive support from young mothers. Her current follower count exceeds 2.5 million,” said a TV magazine writer.
While Kimura’s image as a mom-talent is solidifying, starting May 18, the drama “Renzoku Drama W I, KILL” will air and stream on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand. It is a period drama set in post-Battle of Sekigahara Japan, featuring intense action scenes. Kimura stars as Rin, a former ninja.
The contrast between this drama and Kimura’s appearance in Kabukicho is striking. What kind of drama will it be? We can’t wait to find out!
