After independence, Kazuya Kamenashi was found traveling by train alone!

“KAT-TUN” is gone!

In mid-April, late at night, Kazuya Kamenashi (39) was seen emerging from the Shinkansen ticket gate at Shinagawa Station.

Following the disbandment of his group KAT-TUN on March 31, Kamenashi announced his departure and independence from STARTO ENTERTAINMENT on February 12.

“For fans, it was a complete shock. When NEWS Post Seven reported Kamenashi’s departure on February 5, fans assumed the group would break up because he left. But it seems the reality was the opposite,” said a sports newspaper reporter.

Kamenashi explained in a YouTube video released on March 29:

“As long as KAT-TUN existed, I thought I absolutely should stay in this environment. But now that KAT-TUN is gone, it’s a huge change for me, so I have to create a different way to fight.”

The reporter added,

“Since leaving STARTO, reports say he will lose baseball-related work he loved, so it’s highly likely he will take on new challenges in different fields.”

That night, Kamenashi was pulling a large suitcase by himself, without a manager, traveling alone.

On April 16, his first regular show since going independent, Sekai o Sukuu! Wannyaful Monogatari Shiba to Mike to Kamenashi-kun (TV Tokyo), premiered. This was also his first time as MC on a TV Tokyo program. He appeared wearing a dog costume, which fans loved on social media, commenting things like “Dog costume really suits him” and “So cute!”

What new side of Kamenashi will we see next? Fans eagerly await his future activities.
