Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s Motoki Ohmori Stuns with Flashy Return at Haneda Airport Under Heavy Security
The expression is hard to read
In early March, when the cold was still lingering, a group of men in black suits stood motionless in the arrival lobby of Haneda Airport’s international terminal, crowded with foreign tourists. Their cold glares and the wireless earpieces they wore made the travelers around them murmur, “Is a Hollywood star coming?” and “They must be providing VIP security.”
It was just after 8 p.m. Suddenly, the men in black suits rushed toward the arrival gate. At the same time, the person they were guarding appeared: Motoki Omori (28), the vocalist and guitarist of “Mrs. GREEN APPLE” (commonly known as “Mrs.”).
Omori had attended the Gucci Fall/Winter collection in Milan, Italy, alongside guitarist Kohto Wakai (28) and keyboardist Ryoka Fujisawa (31). It seemed they had just returned to Japan.
“Omori was swiftly walking toward the exit, guarded by the men in black suits. He had a large hood covering his head, so it was hard to make out his expression, but as the frontman of a rapidly rising group, he exuded an intimidating aura,” said a fellow passenger who witnessed the scene.
Fujisawa walked beside Omori, while Wakai followed a little further behind. A staff member was pushing a cart loaded with a large amount of luggage behind them.
“Mrs. GREEN APPLE” has been unstoppable, winning the Grand Prize at the Japan Record Awards for two consecutive years. In February, they attended the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, held a 2-day live show in South Korea, and participated in Gucci’s Fall/Winter collection. Omori has also been announced as a cast member in the NHK morning drama “Anpan,” and will star alongside Fuma Kikuchi (30) in the film “I’ll Tell You the Truth,” which will be released on April 25.
“The security was intense, and honestly, I thought it might attract less attention if it were a bit more relaxed. But given that they are an internationally popular group now, VIP treatment is probably expected,” said another onlooker.
It will be interesting to see how far they rise from here.
