<h2>&#8220;Send me naked pictures&#8221;</h2>
On March 4, a company employee was arrested by the Ikuta Police Department of the Hyogo Prefectural Police on suspicion of violating the Child Prostitution and Pornography Law by sending naked pictures to an underage high school girl he met on SNS.
“In November of last year, a company employee in Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, sent a DM to a girl, 16, who was a first-year high school student at the time, after he found her tweeting on the Internet that she wanted someone to talk to. The suspect is suspected of arranging a meeting with the girl on the pretext of listening to her story, and engaging in sexual intercourse with her.
The suspect then demanded that the high school student send him a naked picture. He had her send three naked pictures of her breasts and pubic area to his phone.”
This is not the only crime the suspect committed. In fact, during the same period, he also committed an indecent act with another teenage girl.
“He met the girl on SNS, arranged to meet her, and had sexual intercourse with her at a love hotel in Kobe City. When the girl&#8217;s mother became suspicious when her daughter did not return home, she checked the location information on her smartphone and found a love hotel.
The mother consulted the police, saying, &#8216;My daughter might be in a love hotel. When the police asked the girl about it, she told them that she had become friends with someone she had met on social networking services and that she had done such an act at a love hotel.”
In fact, the following month, the suspect had sexual intercourse with a girl in her third year of junior high school at a love hotel in Kobe City.

<h3>Kumon suspect&#8217;s additional crimes</h3>
“The suspect gave the girls money as pocket money for the first time, and then engaged in sexual intercourse with them without money. He played the role of a kind older brother and talked with them to get them to open up to him.
Although he has the appearance of an ordinary businessman, he is also suspected of violating the Osaka Prefectural Ordinance on the Healthy Development of Youth by engaging in sexual intercourse with a girl at a hotel in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture, on January 12 of this year. The confiscated smartphone contained his correspondence with several girls.”
Crime journalist Taihei Ogawa points out the risks of SNS use by minors.
“Sending photos of yourself to people you have never met on SNS is dangerous because of the risk of spreading. However, underage girls who have not yet mastered the ability to make good judgments may be tempted to send their pictures to people they have never met, saying things like, &#8216;Don&#8217;t you trust me? and so on, they tend to send them.
Many elementary and junior high school students today have little awareness of risk management, such as not sending photos or meeting one-on-one with people they meet on social networking sites. I believe that more education on risk management in SNS will be needed in the future under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and the national government.&#8221;
In response to the police investigation, the suspect stated, &#8220;There is no doubt that we had sexual intercourse, but the girl (herself) sent the photos to me. It can only be described as cowardly, malicious, and shameful because a good adult was taking advantage of an underage girl&#8217;s loneliness.”
