Mori Izumi and Her Beloved Dog Spotted at a Pet Salon!
A dog connects me to my husband
In mid-January, a tall woman entered a pet salon in Hiroo, Tokyo, carrying her beloved dog. With her striking figure and carefree smile, it was none other than talent Mori Izumi (42).
Her grandmother was the world-renowned fashion designer Hanae Mori (who passed away at 96). Her mother was also an active fashion model, and Mori herself pursued a modeling career. Although she is an elite socialite listed in Parisian high society directories, her public image in recent years has been more about her cheerful and candid remarks and her persona as an animal-loving DIY talent.
In 2018, she married a Buddhist monk, whom she met through a friend when he conducted a funeral for her late dog.
The pet salon in question was once owned by Mori. In addition to grooming services, it also operates as a pet hotel with on-site staff. It seemed she was dropping off her dog, and after chatting with the staff for a while, she high-fived them with a cheerful “Yoroshiku!” before leaving the store.

Mori has been fostering rescue dogs and cats until they find permanent homes. In 2020, she served as an ambassador for the rescue dog support project “#save101dogs” and has been actively involved in animal rescue efforts. She is a devoted animal lover through and through.
The entertainment industry is home to many other celebrities who are passionate about animal rescue.
Takuya Kimura (52), his wife Shizuka (54), and their daughters Cocomi (23) and Koki, (21) frequently feature their dogs on social media. On January 15, Shizuka updated her Instagram, announcing her donation of leashes and other essentials to an animal rescue organization. She is well-known as an advocate for animal welfare, regularly donating part of the proceeds from her concerts and dinner shows to guide dog associations and organizations that train search-and-rescue dogs.
Fumi Nikaido (30) began questioning the conditions animals face after adopting a ferret—a small carnivorous mammal of the weasel family—when she was around 22 or 23. She has since adopted rescue dogs and volunteers as a temporary foster when her schedule allows.
In March 2021, FRIDAY spotted Nikaido walking her dog. When asked, she revealed, “A foster dog I was taking care of just found a permanent home.” Regarding her involvement, she humbly stated, “I can do this because I work as an actress. Compared to full-time volunteers, I feel like I’m not doing much.” Yet, her deep love for animals was evident.
These stars dedicate themselves to rescue efforts—not only beautiful on the outside but also in their hearts!
