On January 22, Snow Man released his first best album, which set a brilliant record in the “Oricon Weekly Album Ranking” as the album with the “highest first-week sales in Reiwa”… (Photo taken in March, 2010) (Photo taken in March 2010)

Seriously, I don’t know a single song.

Snow Man released their best album “THE BEST2020 – 2025” on January 22. The album sold 1,105,000 copies on its first day of release, the first time in the history of “Oricon Daily Album Ranking. Although Snow Man has no enemies on the way, the news has been met with cold reception from some netizens.

According to Oricon, the first day record for the best album “THE BEST2020 – 2025” was set on March 2, 2009. According to Oricon, the first-day record for the best album “THE BEST2020 – 2025” was “the first album in history to reach a million in first-day sales” (Oricon News, original text) in the Daily Ranking, which started announcing sales numbers on March 2, 2009.

The album, which sold 1,395,000 copies in its first week, topped the “Oricon Weekly Album Ranking” (announced on January 28, ’25). Arashi’s album “5×20 All the BEST!!!” dated July 8, ’19. 1999-2019,” and became the “highest first-week sales in Reiwa” in the same ranking.

While Snow Man has been a big hit in this way, some netizens have reacted with a sense of dismay, saying, “Even though their best album has sold so well, I really don’t know any of their songs,” and “What will their best song be? What is going to be the representative song? Some even sarcastically commented, “It’s amazing that Snow Man has sold a million albums, even though most of their songs are unknown to everyone except their fans.

On the 5th anniversary of their debut, Snow Man announced their stadium live “Snow Man 1st Stadium Live~Snow World~” in a live broadcast on their official YouTube channel. Stadium in Tokyo on April 19 and 20, and at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa on June 7 and 8.

Including before the renovation, this is the third group from the former Johnny’s s office (now STARTO ENTERTAINMENT) to hold concerts at the National Stadium, following SMAP and Arashi. Nissan Stadium is also the third group to hold a concert at Nissan Stadium, following SMAP and Kanjani Eight (now SUPER EIGHT), and Snow Man is the third group to do so.

Although the National Stadium concert in particular will follow in the footsteps of SMAP and Arashi, who have been described as “national idol groups,” fans of STARTO and others have voiced harsh opinions about the event.

To be recognized as a “national group”…

On social networking sites,

I thought Snow Man would be standing on the national stage sooner rather than later.

I thought the national stage was a place for national idols and artists to perform.

I’m bothered by the fact that Snow Man is called a “national idol in both name and reality” because I feel like it’s not true.

I think the reason why Snow Man can’t be called a national idol is because of their name recognition. Arashi and SMAP were known by men and women of all ages at least back then.

The debate over Snow Man’s music has developed into a discussion of whether or not they are a “national group.

Many people who are concerned about Snow Man’s music know their debut song “D.D.” and “Brother Beat,” the theme song for the movie “Osomatsu-san,” in which they starred in ’22, ……. If they can find a new representative song, they may finally be recognized as a “national group” by many people.

The members of Snow Man are active as actors in dramas and movies, and also appear in many variety shows. I hope that they will continue to produce representative songs while utilizing their individual strengths and giving back to the group’s activities.
