Yuki Poyo’s Sister Yumichii Reveals Her Bold Dream
She is a model for the gal magazine "nuts" and a member of the variety show "Lavit! She is 21 years old and is also a member of "Chogaluru," a unit produced by Tunku♂ that was formed on the variety show "Rabbit! What is the secret behind her rocket start just 10 months after her debut?
“Yumichii,” who made her debut in the entertainment industry by walking the runway at TGC (Tokyo Girls Collection) this February, made her first appearance in the December 12th (Thursday) issue of FRIDAY, causing a buzz! We asked her about the reason she entered the entertainment industry, her biggest charm point, and her future prospects.
“I thought, ‘Oh, this is my chance!'”
—It’s been about 10 months since you entered the entertainment industry. Why did you decide to join this world?
“When I was in high school, I appeared on my older sister (Yukipoyo)’s YouTube channel and was occasionally featured on variety shows as ‘Yukipoyo’s sister,’ so there were people who knew about me. But even though I admired the glamorous world of entertainment, I didn’t have the courage to dive in. Then, by chance, a YouTube video I appeared in with my sister went viral. That’s when the agency I’m currently with reached out to me. I thought, ‘Oh, this is my chance!'”
–Fashion shows, magazine modeling, variety show appearances, regular radio spots. It’s hard to believe you’re just starting your career with such a successful start. Straight to the point, why do you think things are going so well?
“To be honest, I think it’s mostly my charm (laughs). I didn’t realize it, but recently I’ve been getting a lot of compliments saying I have charm, and I’ve noticed it myself. Since my sister is much older than me, I’ve had many opportunities to interact with older people from a young age. I don’t really get shy around adults, and I hate to say it myself, but I’m super friendly (laughs). Of course, the main reason for everything that’s happening now is that I’ve had so many people supporting me and connecting me with work. I want to keep that in mind and use things like ‘You’re not shy’ or ‘You don’t get nervous’ as my strengths to take on any challenge!”
–Your strength is your charm. What would you say is your weakness?
“My biggest weakness is that I’m really bad at self-promotion (laughs). I’m terrible at taking selfies or filming TikTok videos. I really don’t have a good sense of how to use social media. To get more recognition, I really need to overcome this. I’ll work hard on it (crying).”

–Are there any jobs you’d like to try in the future or a type of celebrity you aspire to be?
“I’m really curious about everything, and I have this endless desire to try anything. I entered this industry because I wanted to become a model, but I was also able to become a member of a music group, and now I’m getting opportunities like working as a gravure talent. This summer, I even appeared in a movie (‘The Real Scary Stories: Strange Layout’). Right now, I’m enjoying whatever I’m doing. I’m giving my all to whatever I can do, and I want to be on lots of TV shows, eventually becoming a household name all over Japan.”
–Is there any particular TV show you’d like to appear on?
“I want to appear on ‘Itte Q! (World’s End Itte Q!)’ (NTV)! I want to be on a show where I can move my body acrobatically and make everyone laugh. If I could become a ‘Degawa Girl,’ it would definitely be so much fun. By the way, right after my debut, I had the chance to appear on ‘Tōsō-chū’ (Fuji TV), but I was caught instantly and eliminated – a bittersweet memory. (laughs). I want to have a revenge someday!”

“Please be sure to include that! Oh! Also, I’m good at making sweets! I even had dreams of becoming a chef, a nutritionist, or a baker when I was younger. I love food, so if there are any opportunities for that kind of content.! I’ll do my best with lots of energy and charm, so please look forward to it!”
