Tanishige Taniguchi gives a speech after being inducted into the Hall of Fame in January of this year.

A splendid lineup including Sadaharu Oh

Motonobu Tanishige, 53, who was a regular catcher for Yokohama (now DeNA) and Chunichi, and manager of Chunichi, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on December 3 in Yokohama.

A total of 300 people, including Sadaharu Oh, 84, chairman of Softbank, and Daisuke Miura, 50, manager of DeNA, came to celebrate at the party, which was held at a well-established hotel.

The party was held in a standing buffet style. The host of the party was two announcers from Fuji Television, Mitsuhiro Nakamura (40) and Minami Sakuma (27), who had worked together on “S-Park. The mood at the event was relaxed, with congratulatory speeches by Akihiko Oya (76), who was manager of the team when he joined, and Tomoko Nanba (62), owner of DeNA, and the president of a supporting company gave Tanishige a surprise gift of a luxury wristwatch. A current player from a Central League team in attendance said, “There were too many people, and it was hard to get a drink. They seemed to be enjoying the party, although they laughed bitterly, saying, ‘There are too many people and it’s hard to get a drink.

After the speeches and toasts by the dignitaries were over, the dinner time finally began, and the hungry athletes rushed toward the hors d’oeuvres.

At the table where the food was laid out, former Hiroshima baseball player Tomonori Maeda (53) and Kazuhiro Wada (52), former hitting coach for Chunichi, chatted and laughed as they popped small sandwiches into their mouths one after the other. With only a few places to sit in the venue, the current players did not know how to pass the time and lamented, “I’m getting people-sick,” and “It’s so hot …….

Some went outside the venue several times while pretending to make phone calls, and others holed up in the smoking area. 56-year-old Masahiro Sasaki, the 1998 Bay Stars Japan’s No. 1 player, 54-year-old Takahiro Saeki, and 62-year-old Tokuhiro Komada, the manager of the Giants’ third team, left the venue without so much as a toast.

At the annual Baseball Hall of Fame induction parties, usually a talk show is held with the inductees, but this time, at Tanishige’s request, a “chat” was chosen, and the remaining alumni and current players were enjoying old stories. The power of the gorgeous lineup was so great that the reporter who covered the event was almost swept up in the atmosphere.

Then, the incident occurred. Suddenly, an incident occurred.

Elderly alumni” hit by heavy bass

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!”

Despite the noisy participants in the hall, the representative of Mr. Tanishige’s entertainment agency and hip-hop MC “AK-69” appeared on stage in a flirtatious manner.

As heavy bass echoed through the venue, AK-69 sang two songs in celebration of Mr. Tanishige. The attendees, who appeared to be his peers, swayed their bodies and sang along in a groove, but the hip-hop live performance suddenly started during the party celebrating the baseball player, which left the attendees bewildered.

The audience was bewildered as AK-69 and his cronies shouted, “Tanishige! Tanishige! were repeatedly shouted by AK-69 and his cronies. The current players could only watch the performance with a wry smile on their faces, but Oya, Masatsugu Hiramatsu (77), and other senior baseball players, with faces twisted, said, “I have an earache, let’s go home. I don’t understand. I know it’s Shige’s hobby, but ……” and rushed to the exit.

No matter how big a name they are in the baseball world, they are still late-aged people, and AK-69’s performance was too stimulating. I feel sorry for the legends who paid 10,000 yen to attend the party for their beloved juniors and were subjected to an unexpectedly bombastic live performance. …… (laughs)” (one of the participants).

In the end, only a few people from the baseball world remained at the party, which lasted about two hours. It seems that director Motonobu Tanigoe’s “chaos party” was not well received by baseball people.
