A-Rod and Julio Rodríguez Spotted in Tokyo!
At 49, A-Rod still has a muscular physique
The MLB (Major League Baseball) season, which ended with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ victory in the World Series, has come to a close. Immediately after the conclusion of the season, not only current major league players but also MLB personnel have been making trips to Japan.
On the evening of November 17, Alex Rodriguez (49), the former Major League Baseball player known by the nickname “A-Rod,” was spotted at a high-end sushi restaurant in Omotesando.
“With 696 career home runs, ranking 5th on the all-time list, and three-time season MVP awards, the legend now serves as a commentator for a popular sports program in the United States. During this visit to Japan, he participated in numerous events. At a talk show held at the U.S. Embassy on November 18, he expressed his respect for Shohei Ohtani, calling him ‘the most unique player in history,'” said a sports magazine reporter.
When Rodriguez emerged from the sushi restaurant, his muscular physique, which made his suit look almost too tight at 49, exuded an impressive aura. His distinguished presence immediately made it clear that he was a big deal. Outside the restaurant, a large group of fans gathered, requesting autographs. Rodriguez, maintaining a calm expression, quietly signed autographs one by one. Afterward, he quietly sat in the back seat of the luxury car that came to pick him up and left Omotesando, waved off by fans. His composure and dignity were truly worthy of being called a legend.
727 billion yen contract major league player
On November 15, around 8 PM, Julio Rodríguez (23), the superstar of the Seattle Mariners, was spotted walking through the streets of Shinjuku surrounded by staff. On this day, he participated in a fan event at “Alpen Tokyo,” where he held a talk show and photo session.
“Rodríguez became famous in Japan after winning the American League Rookie of the Year in 2022 and signing a massive contract with the Mariners, worth $470 million (approximately 75.7 billion yen) over 17 years,” said a reporter.
For this trip to Japan, Rodríguez was accompanied by his girlfriend, Canadian national soccer player Jordyn Hietema (23). The couple arrived in Japan a week before the event and were seen visiting places like Asakusa, the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum, and even an anime production company.
For MLB-related people, Japan seems to be the current trend, perhaps thanks to the Shohei Ohtani fever.
