Mariko Shinoda Shines in a Pure White Dress with a Self-Deprecating Joke

“I have really loose security (laughs). All my passwords are the same.” 

On September 30, Mariko Shinoda (38) appeared at a talk show hosted by Act, a company specializing in cybersecurity, wearing a pure white dress. 

The theme was information leaks and social media troubles. Given her past of leaked audio and LINE screenshots, where she tearfully expressed to her ex-husband, “I was lonely” and “I’m the one to blame,” the topic was quite tough for her. However, as mentioned at the beginning, Shinoda turned it into self-deprecating humor, energizing the event. 

Moreover, this was her first public appearance after announcing her relationship with Koji Asano (44), the founder and CEO of Knowledge Work, demonstrating remarkable courage.

Overcoming the unfaithful wife

“The leaked audio and LINE messages spread, and Shinoda suffered significant damage. It seemed difficult for her to make a comeback; however, everything changed when she took on the role of the unfaithful wife in the drama ‘The Man Who Won’t Divorce – The Deceptive Love of the Cheating Husband and the Evil Wife’ (TV Asahi) in January of this year. Her steamy scene with Tohru Koike (38) garnered attention online as breaking the limits of terrestrial broadcasting and led to a rapid increase in her evaluation as an actress.

Her resilience is reminiscent of Seiko Matsuda (62), who continues to shine despite overcoming scandals,” says columnist Mihoko Yamada.
