<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In October of this year, Momoka Mine (24), who had been working at a general company, and Sachie Yamamoto (25), a former announcer for Yamagata Broadcasting, joined TV Tokyo as mid-career announcers. This marks the first mid-career hiring for announcer positions in eight years since former Hokkaido Television announcer Shikai Nishino (34) and former RKB Mainichi Broadcasting announcer Noriko Fukuda (33) joined in 2016.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The focus is on announcer Mine. Although she lacks experience as a station announcer, she actually worked as a freelance announcer while attending Aoyama Gakuin University, serving as a weather reporter for “THE TIME,” (TBS) from October 2021 until spring 2023. In June 2022, she was voted first place in the “Favorite Weather Girl” category of the national &#8220;WeatherCaster General Election,&#8221; conducted by “FLASH” with 3,000 viewers participating.</span></p>
<p><b>&#8220;Until now, weather casters have often been cute, soft-spoken women, but Mine stands out as a lively sports girl. After her debut on ‘THE TIME,’ she quickly gained popularity. She attended Aoyama Gakuin from junior high through university, where she was part of the cheerleading team and won a national championship. She took up golf in university and has a score of 93.</b></p>
<p><b>The opportunity for this sports girl to debut in the entertainment industry came when she participated in the Miss Nippon contest in 2021, where she won the semi-grand prize for ‘Water Angel,’ leading to an appearance offer from ‘THE TIME.’ This coincided with the period when the announcer recruitment exams were about to begin.
