After five long years, Hiroyuki Miyasako finally makes his return to terrestrial television.

His dream seems to be finally coming true.

Hiroyuki Miyasako, formerly of the comedy duo Ameagari Kesshitai, has secured a regular show with his own title on the new TV Saitama program “Beauty Man – Hiroyuki Miyasako’s Declaration as a Handsome Older Man” (starting October 7 at 1:30 AM).

Miyasako has long been expressing his desire to return to television. Initially, he stated:

“I want to return to my partner’s side.”

However, he was confronted by Tohru Hotohara with a “three-step dismissal,” leading to their disbandment and his subsequent disappearance from the scene.

In June, there were talks of a comeback on Chiba Television, but it ended up being shelved.

In June, he announced on his YouTube channel that he would appear on a program on Chiba Television, but the station denied any plans for broadcasting, and it ended up being shelved. In the meantime, another local station in the Kanto region, TV Saitama, has stepped forward again.

“It seems that, like the previous plan with Chiba Television, this is a proposal brought in by an external production company. This time, since TV Saitama has also approved his appearance, the broadcast is confirmed. Naturally, the sponsors must have given their consent for the new program to be launched. Fans are delighted that Mr. Miyasako’s dream has come true,” said a production producer at the television station.

Given the high level of interest, there may be an increase in programs featuring Miyasako in the future. Even for freelance comedians, the ability to broadcast via social media and YouTube has diminished the role of talent agencies compared to the past.

However, there are also perspectives suggesting that dark clouds are looming over Miyasako.

“The fact that he exposed the power harassment by Yoshimoto’s President Akihiko Okamoto during the dark business incident was significant. He tearfully testified that he was pressured with statements like ‘If you hold a press conference, everyone will be fired’ and ‘I hope you’re not recording this,’ which prevented him from speaking out. At that time, Kōji Katō and Haruna Kondo, who were outraged on ‘Sukkiri’ (Nippon TV), had their contracts changed from Yoshimoto to agent contracts. President Okamoto was forced to hold a press conference due to advice from Hitoshi Matsumoto and was heavily criticized by the public. Miyasako is not simply treated as a freelance comedian who left Yoshimoto. I think it takes courage for TV Saitama to take this action. I hope it doesn’t affect other programs…” said a person associated with the wide show.

Even the commercials in which he appeared were refused airtime on terrestrial television.

Once, the president of the fashion e-commerce company Locondo, Yusuke Tanaka, made it possible for Miyazaki to return to television commercials. He revealed on his YouTube channel that the commercials were refused airtime from all commercial broadcasting stations except for TV Tokyo. Sponsors are usually seen as gods to television networks, so being refused by the networks is unusual. The exact intention behind this is unclear, but it is highly likely that the networks acted out of some form of consideration.

Television Saitama is also known for producing “Irohani Chidori,” the first regular program of the comedy duo Chidori after they moved to Tokyo. It has other regular shows like “Soreyuke! Omiya Seven,” and it is undoubtedly a television station with deep ties to Yoshimoto.

The question remains whether Miyazaki will be able to smoothly handle his regular program without any issues.
