<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The man who emerged from the police station for prosecution had an intimidating presence. With a shaved head and sharp gaze, he faced the gathered reporters without flinching and boarded the transport vehicle.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On September 20, the Ushigome Police Station in Tokyo arrested Toshiyuki Ichinomiya (55) on suspicion of attempted murder. Ichinomiya is an executive of the designated violent gang, Kanto Sekine-gumi. The incident for which he was arrested occurred in the early hours of August 30.</span></p>

<p><b>“At around 3:30 AM, suspect Toshiyuki Ichinomiya was lying in wait for a 50-year-old gang leader, Mr. A, from the same Kanto Sekine-gumi group on a street in Arakicho, Shinjuku. When Mr. A appeared, Ichinomiya suddenly slashed him six times with a sword, targeting his head and abdomen in an attempt to kill him.</b></p>
<p><b>Mr. A suffered severe injuries, including a skull fracture. He was taken to the hospital, and while the recovery period is unclear, he is reportedly not in life-threatening condition. Ichinomiya arrived at the crime scene by car and fled immediately after the attack,” said a reporter from a national newspaper&#8217;s social affairs department.</b></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Surveillance footage from the area led to the identification of Ichinomiya&#8217;s involvement, resulting in his arrest. During questioning, Ichinomiya reportedly has not provided further details and said,</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The police are investigating the case, believing there was a personal conflict between Mr. A and suspect Ichinomiya.</span></p>
