Trump Expresses Concern Over Taylor Swift’s Support for Harris After Four-Year Grudge
American singer Taylor Swift, who has a tremendous influence on young people, is attracting attention regarding when she will express her views on this year’s U.S. presidential election.
Taylor has previously openly shared her political opinions on social media.
In 2018, she publicly supported Democrat Phil Bredesen in the Tennessee Senate race and Jim Cooper in the House race. At that time, Taylor referred to Bredesen’s opponent, Republican Marsha Blackburn,
“A wig-wearing Trump.”
She called her that.
In 2020, when then-President Trump called the participants of protests against the killing of Black man George Floyd by a white police officer “criminals” and declared he would send in the military, Taylor strongly condemned him on Twitter (now X) with the statement:
“It’s unacceptable to feign moral superiority after stoking the flames of white supremacy and racism before threatening violence.”
Strongly condemned.
“When the looting starts, the shooting starts? We will vote you out in November.”
She declared.
In October 2020, Taylor declared in the U.S. magazine “V Magazine”:
“I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election. I believe that under their leadership, we have a chance to begin the healing process that America desperately needs.”
She also posted a photo on her Twitter (now X) holding a plate with cookies that had “Biden-Harris 2020” written on them to encourage voting.
Taylor, with 280 million Instagram followers, wields immense influence, especially among young people, and even Trump was cautious of her. There was an incident where Trump posted a fake image on his own social media claiming that Taylor had expressed support for him, leading to a fierce backlash from her fans.
With Taylor’s backing, Biden was able to prevent Trump from winning re-election in the 2020 presidential race.
When President Biden withdrew from the next presidential election and Vice President Harris succeeded him,
“He was very happy.”
“The U.S. Sun” (online edition) reported.
According to the article, about the possibility of Harris becoming the first female president in U.S. history, Taylor said,
“I’m excited.”
According to a source close to Taylor’s team,
“The announcement of her support for Harris is expected to come about four to six weeks before election day.”
A source revealed that since the presidential election will be held on November 5, Taylor is likely to announce her support between September 24 and October 8.
“Taylor’s influence over her millions of fans is expected to extend to the presidential election. If there are undecided voters among her devoted fans, known as ‘Swifties,’ they may end up voting for Harris on November 5. The Harris campaign will likely want Taylor to declare her support at the most impactful time, while on the other hand, Trump will be anxiously awaiting when she makes her announcement,” said a reporter from a women’s magazine.
Will Taylor’s support for Harris recreate the outcome of 2020? The Trump camp is making a comeback by rallying figures like Elon Musk and Robert Kennedy Jr., and the situation remains unpredictable until the very end.
