46-Year-Old DAIGO Shows Style and Dedication in Sports Club Amid Summer Heat

In late July, a slim man appeared at a sports club in Tokyo. It was DAIGO (46).

While Japan is experiencing record-breaking heat waves daily, DAIGO was dressed entirely in black. True to his rock singer style, he wore Louis Vuitton sneakers and a Saint Laurent aloha-style shirt. He effortlessly showcased high-end brands as if he had just come out of a luxury boutique.

“Speaking of DAIGO, he has been introducing budget-friendly and time-saving recipes daily on the TV Asahi show ‘DAIGO’s Kitchen What’s for Today’s Menu?’ since April 2022. The show has surpassed 600 episodes, and its recipe book reached its 11th edition in the August 2024 issue. He is arguably one of the most popular male celebrities among housewives. As the husband of the highly popular actress Keiko Kitagawa (37) and a father of one, DAIGO is also praised for maintaining his refreshing appearance and slim physique” (TV magazine writer). 

In the currently playing film *Kamen Rider Gatchard: The Movie*, DAIGO plays the future version of the protagonist, high school student Hotaro Ichinose, 20 years later. In a magazine interview, he shared:

“Being able to transform into Kamen Rider at 46 feels like a miraculous reward in life. If I had passed away at 45, I wouldn’t have had this chance. I’m really glad to be alive.” (Croissant Issue 1120)

He also mentioned his dedication to health management:

“I’ve been checking my weight every morning and evening for 20 years. I want to stay young, inspired by people I admire like HYDE, YOSHIKI, and the late David Bowie, who have aged gracefully.” (Croissant Issue 1120)

 

DAIGO’s dedication to maintaining his fashion even while going to the sports club might be part of his “aesthetic” for staying youthful.
