Parents’ Unending Anger Directed at Former Nursery Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct
“I am a pedophile who sees young girls as sexual objects. I have collected a lot of child pornography and satisfied my sexual desires by watching those videos. However, that was not enough to control my urges, leading to the crimes in this case.”
Former nursery teacher Nagata Nagumi (27), who is accused of committing obscene acts on multiple girls at his licensed nursery and filming the acts, confessed this to the police during interrogation.
Related article “Former Child Care Worker in Her 20s Reveals ‘Appalling Motive’ for Filming Indecent Acts by Calling Preschoolers into a Closet.” provides detailed reports on Nagata’s obscene acts on multiple children.
“Defendant Nagata began working as a nursery teacher in 2017 and moved to a nursery run by his father in April 2022. He did not serve as a homeroom teacher but assisted with nursery duties. He was arrested on January 17, 2024, for sexually assaulting a child, and it later came to light that he had repeatedly committed similar offenses and was re-arrested multiple times.
It was revealed through his confession and reports from parents who saw the news that he had also committed obscene acts on children at another nursery where he worked from 2017 to March 2022. At that nursery, he was a homeroom teacher. He has been arrested a total of seven times for crimes at the two nurseries” (Reporter from a national newspaper’s social affairs department).
The trial started on June 6, 2024. During the fourth session held on July 26, 2024, two incidents at the nursery where Nagata served as a homeroom teacher were examined—forced indecent acts on F-chan and forced intercourse with G-chan. The social affairs reporter explains based on the indictment.
“In late September 2021, Defendant Nagata called over F-chan, who was playing with other children on the third floor of the nursery. When alone with F-chan in the stairwell, he blindfolded her with a bandana and committed an indecent act. Additionally, around the end of 2021, when other children were moved to a different room during extended care, he was alone with G-chan in the classroom, took her to a piano under a blind spot of the classroom’s security camera, and committed an indecent act. G-chan, who was not blindfolded like the other victims, reported the incident to her mother on January 18, 2024, the day after Nagata’s arrest, leading to the discovery of the case.”
F-chan’s guardian stated in the deposition:
“Why did my daughter have to go through this? I keep thinking about what to do if hearing about it hurts her again, and I can’t find answers. Every day has been filled with pain. It’s heartbreaking and infuriating to think that my daughter kept this inside her heart for two years without being able to speak out.”
Regarding Defendant Nagata appearing at F-chan’s elementary school sports day after her graduation, there was no hiding the outrage.
“The perpetrator came to the elementary school sports day after my daughter graduated and nonchalantly said, ‘You’ve become even cuter.’ It makes me unable to sleep at night thinking that my daughter might have been seen as a sexual object both during nursery school and after moving on to elementary school. (Omitted) I am deeply worried that this could lead to significant future issues for my daughter. Even if the perpetrator receives the death penalty, I cannot forgive him. I want the perpetrator to be punished with the heaviest possible sentence.”
According to the deposition, G-chan’s guardian was aware that her daughter was fond of Defendant Nagata but had lingering suspicions.
“I always thought that the teacher had peculiar habits and only talked about himself when my daughter was attending nursery school. However, my daughter was very attached to the perpetrator, and I saw her leap into his arms and play with him when I went to pick her up.”
Like the guardians of other victims, the deposition was concluded with strong anger.
“After my daughter was victimized, I wish the perpetrator would fall into hell immediately. I am extremely anxious about the impact this will have on my daughter in the future. I never want to see the perpetrator again, and I don’t want him to re-enter society, so I request a severe punishment.”
Defendant Nagata has admitted to all seven incidents, saying “There is no mistake.”
Defendant Nagata, who was aware of being a ‘pedophile,’ chose to work at a nursery. This ‘demon,’ who worked with premeditation, how did he hear the voices of the guardians’ anger, fear, and suffering?
