Fans Concerned About Masataka Kubota’s Public Acupuncture Treatment and the Influence of His Wife Asami Mizukawa
On August 14, actor Masataka Kubota made headlines with a post on his Instagram.
“Root treatment, astonishing. Since becoming interested in physical and mental health, I have had my own realizations and experiences.
This treatment that penetrates to the core of the soul was my first time experiencing it. This sensation is intense.”
Along with this text, he posted an image with dozens of thick needles inserted into his face and scalp.
Tracing the person who performed the treatment, their Instagram shows “shirakawa.729,” and their profile states:
“Exorcist / Root treatment Shinjuku Treatment fee 200,000 yen for 30 minutes”
The content mostly consists of photos taken with clients.
According to this SNS, prominent clients seem to include Ryo Narita, Mai Asada, Ai Fukuhara, fencing’s Yuki Ota, and the Kumagai sisters, Mami and Miyuki Matsuda.
What exactly is root treatment? On SHIRAKAWA’s blog, there is an article summarizing the potential benefits of “head, forehead root (back root treatment, empty root treatment),” which Kubota might have received:
“The effects vary from person to person, and some may not notice any changes.
Of course, it is absolutely effective for headaches, thinning hair, scalp itching, dryness, etc., so the article excludes direct effects.”
In the article, 43 benefits are listed.
“Starts to move in the right direction and purpose in one’s life”
Starting with:
“Improvement of brain diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, adaptation disorders, amnesia, dementia, and prosopagnosia”
“Awakening of artistic sense”
“Sudden contact from estranged parents or siblings”
“Increased likelihood of gaining more followers on social media”
It claims to have universal effects on a wide range of issues.
“It’s a pricey treatment at 200,000 yen for 30 minutes, but if these benefits are true, I think it’s a ‘Nobel Prize-level’ acupuncture treatment. With celebrities and athletes as clients and promotion on social media, these people could become advertisements, attracting many ordinary people who are desperate for solutions” (female magazine reporter).
From Kubota writing about his own realizations,
“Masataka Kubota.nI thought he was getting into spirituality since he got married, but he was realizing it.”
“Kubota-kun, please don’t get too spiritual~”
There are also voices of concern.
By the way, his wife, Asami Mizukawa, also follows SHIRAKAWA’s Instagram.
“It’s understandable that fans might be worried given that the practitioner’s title is ‘exorcist’ and the treatment fee is 200,000 yen for 30 minutes. Many voices suggest that the spiritual nature of the treatment might be influenced by Mizukawa, who married Kubota in 2019. However, at this point, it is unclear whether this person was introduced by Mizukawa or influenced by her.
For fans, it’s undeniable that there is an underlying sentiment of not being ‘fond’ of her presence. In the past, there have been unkind posts criticizing Kubota for dramatic weight loss supposedly due to ‘Mizukawa’s cooking’ or attacking his past romantic history. Such fan sentiments are undoubtedly a background factor in the current spiritual uproar,” (a sports newspaper reporter).
Root treatment is something ordinary people can rarely afford. We definitely want Kubota to share what kind of ‘realization’ he has had.
