Japan Needs Sexual Harassment and Power Harassment” Toshio Tamogami’s “Too Inappropriate” Speech Before the Election
I look back on it now and feel really bad about what I said. I felt that I could not entrust the management of Tokyo to someone who would say such a thing.
Mr. A, a man who attended a party to which Toshio Tamogami, 76, was invited as a guest of honor in January of this year, prior to the Tokyo gubernatorial election, said this.
After graduating from the National Defense Academy, Tamogami joined the Air Self-Defense Force in 1971. After serving as the 38th Commander of the Air Defense Command, he rose to the position of Chief of the Air Staff, the highest rank for an Air Self-Defense official, in 2007. However, his 2008 article “Was Japan an aggressor nation? Nevertheless, he has been criticized as a person of “extreme right-wing ideology. Nevertheless, in the recent Tokyo gubernatorial election, he received approximately 270,000 votes, placing him in fourth place behind Renho (56). He came in fourth place behind Renho (56). Celebrities such as Mrs. Davy (84) and Mitsuo Senda (77) attended his speeches on the streets, and he continues to enjoy the support of a certain segment of the electorate.
Mr. A gives the details.
It was a party to celebrate a celebrity’s birthday, and when asked to give a speech, Tamogami suddenly started talking like this on the stage. ‘Ladies and gentlemen! Do you know why Japan is not doing well? The Central League and Pacific League need to get going.
This is a cloak used by some to refer to sexual harassment in the Central League and power harassment in the Pacific League. The term is sometimes used jokingly, as in “I was sent to a rural affiliate after the Central League Climax Series,” but it is often used in informal settings.
However, Tamogami was apparently drunk and high, and such “sepa” talk went out of control.
Tamogami said, “Men are afraid of sexual harassment and power harassment, so they shrink away from it. That’s why they are not energetic. Everyone, sexual harassment is necessary! Power harassment is necessary! Please sexually harass more and more! Please harass me more and more!” I said to him. No matter how drunk he was, this was not a statement to make at a celebration. Quite a few people were shocked.
We asked Mr. Tamogami’s office about the facts,
Mr. Tamogami has actively spoken out, not only at this venue but also in other places, about his alarm bells against the social atrophy caused by the sexual harassment and power harassment problems and his efforts to create a generous society, which I believe is true. However, I am not aware of any statements that are ‘necessary’ or ‘recommended.
The response was, “I am not aware that I am making any statements that are ‘necessary’ or ‘recommended.
When asked about the intent of the “sexual harassment and power harassment” comment, he replied, “Mr. B (the organizer of the party) is a very good friend of mine,
I have had several conversations with Mr. B (the organizer of the party), and I think he may have referred to this issue because he shared my concern about creating a tolerant society and changing an atrophied society.
He replied.
Does Mr. Tamogami really think that allowing harassment to go unchecked is “generosity”?
