On July 9, actress Manami Konishi (45) updated her SNS to announce her departure from her agency and her independence.
&#8220;Debuting as an actor in the 1998 play &#8216;Netorare Sosuke &#8217;98,&#8217; directed by playwright and director Kohei Tsuka, I was cast as the lead in &#8216;Kamata Koshinkyoku&#8217; the following year. The acting skills and stage presence honed by Tsuka were recognized, leading to a regular role in the variety show &#8216;Kokori Com Miracle Type&#8217; (Fuji TV) in 2001. That same year, I gained attention in the NHK serial drama &#8216;Churasan,&#8217; and the following year, I won numerous film awards for my role as a mute girl in &#8216;Amidado Daoyori.&#8217;
With her outstanding style, charming expression, and notable small face, she is particularly popular among women. In 2006, she was selected as the first queen in the &#8216;Admired Small-Faced Beauty Ranking (Small-Faced Queen)&#8217; conducted by Oricon” (TV magazine writer).

On January 27, 2008, the completion screening of the film &#8220;Sweet Rain: Accuracy of the Death God&#8221; was held in Tokyo, where Konishi, who played the heroine, appeared in a blue off-shoulder dress. The bold exposure of her “small face” and “pale beautiful skin” left the press sighing with admiration.

&#8220;In the film, Konishi played a beautiful woman who moves the heart of the death god portrayed by Takeshi Kaneshiro. When asked about her impression of Kaneshiro, with whom she was working for the first time, she candidly responded, &#8216;It was like something didn’t quite match (laughs),&#8217; which excited the audience with her honest talk.
Under the role name of Kazue Fujiki from the film, she also made her singing debut. The theme song &#8216;Sunny Day&#8217; entered the Oricon singles weekly chart at number 10 upon its release&#8221; (film magazine reporter).
In 2018, Konishi released an album with all songs written and composed by herself, marking her major debut. However, media appearances have significantly decreased in recent years.
&#8220;Starting her acting career under the strict guidance of Kohei Tsuka, who is known for his rigorous coaching, Konishi is known for her strict and stoic personality, unlike her cute appearance.
