The YouTube channel “Hikage no Koe ” has been following the “aftermath” of the incidents that the media does not tell us about. Tears of the Case ” (Tetsujinsha), published in June of this year, delves into nine major cases, including the murder of three Chiba elementary school girls, the bullying suicide of two Hachioji junior high school girls, the abusive death of a five-year-old Meguro girl, and the murder of two Osaka sisters. Nonfiction writer Mizuho Takagi reveals about the YouTube channel, which has more than 80,000 registered users.

The coverage of ‘Hikage no Koe’ is a series of new discoveries,” she said. In other words, it makes you realize how full of misinformation the media coverage was at the time of the outbreak. As mentioned above, the case of Aoba (defendant) was the most difficult one to cover, but the most surprising case was the Osaka sister murders committed by a death-row inmate named Yukio Yamaji. The most surprising case was the Osaka sister murders committed by a death-row inmate, Yukio Yamaji, who had been telling the story for more than 10 years with even the wrong faces of the victims’ sisters.

From the YouTube channel “Hikage no Koe

The Osaka Sisters Murder Case occurred on November 17, 2005. The older sister (27 at the time), a restaurant worker, and the younger sister (19 at the time), who lived with her, were found cut or stabbed in the chest and arms in a room of an apartment in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City.

In 2009, “Hikage no Koe” interviewed a woman who had treated the sisters like family. It turned out that the picture of the sister’s face that was posted on YouTube channels that featured the case was a picture of the older sister. The cause was that the media had misidentified the photo at the beginning of the incident. And the bereaved family and others involved, in the depths of their grief, did not have enough time to protest.

I knew how much the bereaved families had been hurt by the incident being turned into an entertainment and uploaded to YouTube and other sites,” he said. As a member of the news media, I felt I had to be careful if I was going to do this,” he said.

There is a big difference between a YouTube channel that deals with the incident in a funny way and “Hikage no Koe”. One of the major differences is the involvement of the people involved in the case.

The new book by Mizuho Takagi and the “Voice of the Shadow” team is now on sale!

Tzo (Taizo Utsugi), who narrates the video, has a history of losing his girlfriend to a murder on August 26, ’15. He was inundated with media coverage and even suspected of being the murderer, and spent his days in exhaustion. This interview with Mr. Utsugi was the catalyst for the birth of “Hikage no Koe.

Utsugi always says things like, ‘I sympathize with the background of the perpetrators, and it may have been preventable,’ and ‘But that has nothing to do with the bereaved families. But that has nothing to do with the bereaved families.” “Please don’t think of the perpetrators as heroes. I think these are persuasive words of wisdom from someone who was involved in the case.

Mr. Takagi explains the meaning of continuing the “Koe in the Shadows” project.

There are many people who cannot talk about the case at the time, but want to talk about their feelings once the trial is over. I think this is even more true when the court has given an unsatisfactory verdict. It is far less common for the bereaved families to receive a verdict that is satisfactory to them. However, there are no existing media outlets to receive such voices. Everyone speaks at bereaved families’ associations and support groups.

The end of the case should not be a trial, but the revitalization of the bereaved families. In that sense, I had a drink with Mr. Utsugi every year on the anniversary of his death with his deceased girlfriend, and I thought he must be on stage again. That’s why I wanted to create a place where we could talk again.”

And as he continues to cover the buried cases, Takagi himself is confronting the darkness of modern society.

It is a fact that people who are categorized as invincible are committing crimes intermittently,” he said. And even if it is not a heinous crime, it is a fact that it surfaces in various forms.

I have a theory that ‘men are involved in black market jobs and violent acts, while impotent women are involved in fraud and prostitution. In my experience from my past interviews, the incidents were rooted in the origin, upbringing, disabilities, and overmedication by psychiatrists. It is easier to understand when looking at women: they became street prostitutes or committed acts (fraud). Violent crimes committed by invincible people and dependence on prostitutes and hostesses are all self-inflicted wounds of something unresolvable.

Some of them lead to suicides or violent incidents, but only some of them surface until they are counted in numbers. The seeds of such cases can be found everywhere in the city. Now that I have been covering the KyoAni arson case, I think that it is just another case that has sprouted and grown in an unnoticed direction.

As long as there are people who want to talk about the incident, “Hikage no Koe” will continue.
