They are focusing on developing homegrown talent as well as former Johnny’s entertainers.

Hideaki Takizawa (42) is leading the entertainment agency TOBE, which is making significant efforts.

“In March this year, the concert ‘to HEROes,’ featuring all the agency’s artists, saw its dedicated hashtag trend worldwide on X. In June, the new group ‘DeePals,’ with an average age of 14, was unveiled and has been generating buzz. Notably, ‘Number_i,’ the agency’s top earner, recently performed at the global music festival ‘Coachella 2024,’ and their new song ‘BON’ has surpassed 30 million views on its music video, showcasing impressive success” (sports paper entertainment reporter).

However, while the agency’s talents continue to achieve success, the agency’s management itself is reportedly struggling. A key station producer reveals:

“TOBE is facing a shortage of behind-the-scenes staff. On May 31 of this year, CEO Takizawa publicly announced on social media that they were recruiting staff. They were actively seeking managers for their artists and staff for event planning on job sites like MyNavi.”

Despite posting URLs to job sites on Takizawa’s social media, the results have been surprisingly underwhelming, the producer adds.

“It seems that the job listings for TOBE on the recruitment sites have ended, but the staff shortage has not been resolved. Managers are reportedly overseeing multiple groups alone, and the situation appears quite strained. Even the manager of the flagship group ‘Number_i’ is juggling responsibilities for other groups. The company is growing rapidly, and the talents are busier than ever, but there aren’t enough support staff. Securing staff is crucial; failing to do so not only risks missing major business opportunities but also threatens to overwhelm the agency.”

For TOBE to achieve even greater success, CEO Takizawa’s skills are now under scrutiny.
