“I was nervous as it was my first time doing gravure, but it was a fun shoot with Kanon Miyahara and Arisa Sakamaki, so I was able to show lots of natural smiles. I think it turned out with a bright and lively atmosphere, so I hope you enjoy it!”

Smiling as she speaks, Miu Suzuki (24), who plays Shifuto Mirai/Bun Pink in “Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger,” reflects on her role. She is also featured in the upcoming film “Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger: Theater BOON! Promise the Circuit,” set to release on July 26.

After about six months since the show began airing, Suzuki looks back on her initial fears. She recalls being anxious about whether she could really become a hero.

“Before the broadcast, I was very worried about whether I could show myself as a hero to the children. However, seeing the kids dancing to the ending song and receiving many supportive comments, I felt encouraged to keep working hard. Now, getting up early to do my best for these kids really motivates me. It’s a popular series that transcends gender and age, so it’s amazing to be told by male fans that they are supporters. After about six months since the broadcast started, I finally feel like I’ve truly become a hero!”

Miu Suzuki actively worked to build relationships with her co-stars, spending a lot of time together on set.

“I wanted to get close to everyone quickly since we would be working together for a year, so I took the initiative to invite them for meals and outings. It was like hitting a wall with a hammer, hoping it would break down。At first, everyone was a bit reserved due to shyness, but once we got to know each other, we became close. For instance, Risuke Saito (Aikase Jo/Bun Black) brought souvenirs from his hometown in Akita, and Riku Soma (Furikike Genba/Bun Orange) spoke in his Shizuoka dialect, which we all mimicked, just like school friends!”

In this production, the collaboration with popular video creator HIKAKIN has become a hot topic. When asked about working with him, Miu Suzuki said with a laugh, “I’ve known HIKAKIN since I was little, before I started my entertainment career, so I was a fan.”

She added, “There’s a line in the show where we say, ‘Wow! It’s HIKAKIN!’ I felt exactly the same way. It’s a secret, but I was thinking, ‘It’s the real HIKAKIN!’ on set. It’s a habit to address celebrities directly, I guess (laughs). HIKAKIN was very humble during the shoot and liked by everyone on the staff. He’s truly a wonderful person with a different kind of aura. I was really happy to work with him.”

To the fans who come to see the movie, Miu Suzuki says:

“This film was created with the teamwork of the Boonboomger members and the staff. It has definitely turned out to be a great movie, so please come to the theater and watch it!”
