“They were engaged in sexual services.”

From last year into this year, women caught soliciting around Okubo Park in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, reportedly made the following statements. Based on their testimony, police launched an investigation. This led to the arrest of over 20 individuals, including managers and others associated with a delivery health service, under suspicion of violating the Anti-Prostitution Law by arranging prostitution with female employees.

On July 8th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Public Safety Division announced the arrest of Kubota Nobuhiro (44), overseeing manager of the delivery health group, and Yonezawa Hiroki (45), responsible for finance, on suspicion of facilitating prostitution with female employees.

“The alleged incidents leading to their arrest occurred in April this year. It’s reported that four female employees in their twenties were dispatched to hotels and rental rooms for prostitution purposes, engaging in sexual acts with men ranging from their thirties to fifties. Both suspects have denied involvement in overseeing operations.” (reporter from a national newspaper’s social affairs department)

Our magazine photographer captured images of both suspects shortly after their arrest. Kubota, in a black shirt, showed no remorse as he faced forward, while Yonezawa, in a white T-shirt, looked downcast.

“Up to what level can you go?”

The suspects, including Kubota, were involved with the delivery health group “Natural Amateur Overdoing Girls.” The crackdown targeted four establishments in Gotanda, Shinbashi, and Uguisudani, where approximately 350 female employees were employed and dispatched to hotels. According to police, the group’s sales amounted to around 6.5 billion yen from February 2021 to June this year, spanning about three years.

“In June this year, 23 individuals, including managers of the stores and associates of ‘Overdoing Girls,’ were arrested for violations of the Anti-Prostitution Law. Additionally, in July, five of them were rearrested for engaging in prostitution contracts with women who had come for interviews. All five have admitted to the charges.” (said the source)

Kubota and others allegedly made shocking remarks to female interviewees and employees.

“While they were polite, they reportedly asked women, ‘Up to what level can you go with clients?’ ‘I’ll do the full service,’ and ‘If possible, you should do (full service).’ I’ve heard that female employees received about half of the sales.” (said the source)

Police suspect there may be other female employees engaged in prostitution and are continuing their investigation.
