Tsurutaro Kataoka was born in Tokyo. His big break came in 1981 when he performed an impersonation of Masahiko Kondo in “Ore-tachi Hyokinzoku” (“The Hyokin Tribe”), which first aired in 1981! Since then, he has been active in a wide range of fields, including actor, yoga master, and painter. Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of his painting career.
