On July 1st, it is alleged that under the guise of fictitious product transactions, he sold pornographic videos of minors, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Human Safety Division arrested Mao Kimura (44), unemployed, living in Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture, on suspicion of violating the Organized Crime Punishment Act (disguising crime profits). Kimura allegedly sold child pornography videos to unspecified persons via the flea market app ‘Mercari,’ profiting through payment services.

“It appears that suspect Kimura sent sales information for child pornography videos to people who purchased items on Mercari. According to reports, those who agreed to the offer would pay and then receive video data through the highly anonymous messaging app Telegram. It has been confirmed that at least two men in their 40s from Ibaraki and Fukuoka prefectures purchased obscene videos.

The sales reportedly occurred over a few weeks from September to October last year. The data allegedly included videos of sexual assault against a girl in her first year of junior high school. When questioned, suspect Kimura partially denied the allegations, stating, ‘I admit to receiving payment for child pornography videos, but I did not intend to sell them to unspecified multiple individuals.'”
