Former gravure idol Akiko Hinagata (46) updated her Instagram by June 17th, showcasing her well-toned abs from intense training at the gym. She captioned the post with “I’m working hard!” and shared three photos. Comments on social media praised her with remarks like “Unbelievable for 46 years old” and “Her waistline is amazing. This is already a sexy shot.”

“She began her gravure career at 15 and was crowned Fuji TV Visual Queen at 16. Her ‘Hina Pose,’ capturing the moment of standing up from a seated position, and ‘Leopard Pose’ on all fours became her trademarks, earning her the title ‘Original Gravure Queen’ and influencing subsequent gravure photography.

Since 1995, she has been a regular on “Mecha-Mote Iitai!” (Fuji TV). At 20, she married for the first time and subsequently graduated from gravure but continued appearing for 22 years until the end of the successor program ‘Mecha-Iketeru!’ She has also been active as a variety idol and expanded her career as an actress in recent years.

“FRIDAY” focuses on Hinagata, who was at the height of popularity as a gravure idol. They have reported on various aspects of Hinagata, such as her unexpected live performance outfits for her singing debut, her cosplay as Ground, Maritime, and Air Self-Defense Force personnel at the “Self-Defense Forces Music Festival,” and her experiences at a driving school. Among these reports, one that particularly stands out is her passionate relationship with her husband, Amano Kousei. Let’s take a look back at the article reported in February 2013.

A love date with a younger actor just before his remarriage

In February 2013, on a bitterly cold night in Ginza, which had seen its second snowfall of the year, actor Amano Kousei, who is one year younger than Hinagata Akiko and was at the height of his popularity as a gravure idol, walked happily. Hinagata, wearing a fur coat and a mask, was relaxed in a black sweatshirt and cap. The couple emerged from a restaurant just after 9 p.m., chatting as they headed towards a nearby parking lot. Hinagata drove them to a convenience store where they browsed through a fashion magazine together, purchased drinks, and then got back into their car.

Interestingly, this was not the first time the magazine had caught the couple on a date. Three years earlier in 2010, they were also spotted. According to entertainment insiders familiar with the situation at the time,

“Their relationship began when they co-starred in Hinagata’s drama ‘Love Song!’ (TBS, 2007), sparked by Amano’s persistent pursuit.”

By 2013, they had been together for four and a half years. Just a month after this report, on March 25, 2013, they got married. Hinagata had divorced a CM director eleven years her senior back in November 2003, making this her first marriage in ten years.

“Amano, known for his role as Kamen Rider, is a handsome actor who has gained attention for his childlike affection towards Hinagata on variety shows, leading to more appearances together as a married couple. They continue to display a strong bond to this day.” (Television variety show production insider)

May they continue to showcase their enduring charm for years to come.
