The actress, who is taking the lead role in a drama for the first time in seven years, exuded an overwhelming presence on set.

In late May, shortly after 10 a.m., a woman in an all-white look—white T-shirt, matching overalls, and sneakers—was spotted. It was the actress Kyoko Koizumi (58).

After the scene in which she walks along the approach to the shrine, Koizumi walks to the next scene with a script in hand. Satomi Kobayashi was also spotted at her side.

By Kyoko Koizumi’s side was actress Satomi Kobayashi (59), and they appeared to be filming for the upcoming September broadcast of *Danchi no Futari* (NHK). The two visited multiple locations such as shrines, parks, and fishing ponds, working on set in a natural manner.

Kyoko Koizumi, in recent years, has shown her skills not only as an actress but also in stage production, as a producer, and as the head of her agency.

“In 2018, Koizumi admitted to an affair with actor Kosuke Toyohara (58), and announced a two-year hiatus from acting and independence from her agency to focus on other endeavors. Later, Toyohara divorced in 2020, and they began living together. Although there were frequent rumors of a breakup, it was believed that their relationship was repaired when Toyohara appeared in the stage production ‘Aozora wa Kōkai no Akashi’ produced by Koizumi in 2022” (a stage production insider).

Despite facing criticism for their relationship, it seemed that their romance continued.

“However, a comment she made on *Kami to Summars* (TV Tokyo) in February of this year stirred some controversy. She mentioned things like eating out only three times a year, staying home except for work, and seems like I might die alone, hinting at a solitary lifestyle. This suddenly made a breakup seem more plausible” (a TV station insider).

Koizumi, staying true to herself and remaining unperturbed by outside influences, continues to live her life at her own pace.

Unpublished cut from our magazine: Kyoko Koizumi stars in a drama for the first time in seven years; her relationship with partner Kosuke Toyohara is also intriguing.
