&#8220;If my accusation is discovered by the company, I might get fired. However, after seeing repeated reports of his harassment, I thought it would benefit society to publicly disclose what happened that day, to prevent my colleagues and peers from suffering in the future.&#8221;
This confession comes from Mr. A, who works as a taxi driver for a company in Tokyo. The &#8220;he&#8221; that Mr. A speaks of is Senator Gaku Hasegawa (53).
In March this year, Mr. Hasegawa sparked controversy after it was revealed on singer Ikuzo Kichi&#8217;s YouTube channel that he had behaved very arrogantly towards cabin crew on a plane. Subsequently, it became public that he had repeatedly used intimidating language and behavior such as &#8220;I&#8217;ll blow my top&#8221; towards officials from central government ministries and local authorities. He resigned as chairman of the Senate Regional Revitalization and Digital Special Committee on May 29th.
Mr. A, mentioned at the beginning, is also a victim of Mr. Hasegawa&#8217;s unjust treatment. One day in September 2019, around noon, instructions came over the radio in Mr. A&#8217;s car.
On the terminal inside the car, there was a flag indicating to pick up a passenger about 200 meters away from Tokyo Station Marunouchi South Exit. Mr. A moved the car as instructed, but there was no sign of any passenger.

&#8220;As I got out of the car and looked around, I received a text message on my mobile phone from the radio room saying, &#8216;Go to KITTE,'&#8221; recounted Mr. A.
KITTE refers to the high-rise building &#8220;KITTE Marunouchi,&#8221; located near the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station, on the former site of the Tokyo Central Post Office. Mr. A hurriedly headed there and saw a man in a gray suit standing sternly on the roadside—it was Senator Hasegawa.
Sweating profusely for some reason, Senator Hasegawa got into Mr. A&#8217;s car and immediately shouted angrily:
&#8220;Use common sense! Normally, it would be at the roundabout or in front of KITTE!&#8221;
There is no fault on Mr. A&#8217;s part for following the instructions from the radio room. Despite this, due to his position, Mr. A had no choice but to apologize profusely. In response, Senator Hasegawa thundered again:
&#8220;Are you going to charge me for this?&#8221;
In the June 21st issue of &#8220;FRIDAY&#8221; released on June 6th, details of the &#8220;kashhara&#8221; Mr. A received from Senator Hasegawa are extensively covered.
