Michael Jackson’s “youngest” son, Biggie Jackson, has petitioned the court to deny his grandmother, Katherine Jackson, Michael’s mother, permission to use Michael’s estate as court costs. The U.S. TMZ reported.

The “King of Pop” Michael, who died suddenly at the age of 50 from an overdose of the narcotic anesthetic Propofol in 2009, had three children: Prince Jackson, his eldest son; Paris Jackson, his eldest daughter who is a singer and actress; and Biggie Jackson, He had three children: Prince Jackson, his eldest son; Paris Jackson, his eldest daughter, who is a singer and actress; and Biggie Jackson.

Michael’s estate, said to be worth $2 billion (about 300 billion yen), has been complicated by the involvement of Katherine, Michael’s three children, and Michael’s estate management organization.

It all started when Michael’s estate’s co-executors, attorney John Branca and A&R executive John McClain, struck a deal to sell about half of Michael’s music to Sony for $600 million (about ¥90 billion).

The two claimed that the deal was in favor of Michael’s foundation and in the best interest of the beneficiaries.

Initially, Michael’s three children joined Catherine in filing a lawsuit against the sale, but lost. Katherine decided to appeal the decision, but Bigi opposed the appeal. She also applied to the court to disallow Michael’s estate from being used to pay for the appeal trial.

Biggie argues that there is little chance of winning an appeal and that continuing the dispute would be a waste of Michael’s estate. Her eldest daughter, Paris, and eldest son, Prince, also accepted the first trial court’s decision and are opposed to Katherine’s insistence on an appeal.

Katherine, the “godmother” of Michael’s family, is a life beneficiary of a portion of Michael’s estate and has received more than $55 million (approximately 8.25 billion yen) since his death. In addition, the children seem to be rebelling against their grandmother, who is trying to use Michael’s estate in the appeal trial as well.

Bigi, who led the rebellion among such children, wrote and directed the movie “Rochelles” (original title: Rochelles), which was released in February and attracted a lot of attention.

Her eldest son, Prince, graduated in ’19 from Loyola Marymount University in California with a degree in business administration, and the 27-year-old Prince praised Bigi, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on February 21, on Instagram Stories.

“You did it. My brother followed his (film) dream and won an award.”

He congratulated her.

Until now, Paris, the eldest daughter, has been the focus of media attention for her flamboyant personal life, but Bigi, who has had a low profile, is beginning to show his presence by working in the film industry and attracting attention, which is different from his father’s. In May, Catherine’s appeal was heard in the court of appeal.

In May, a hearing is scheduled to be held on Catherine’s appeal. What will be the outcome of the “grandmother vs. grandson” trial?
