The island is about 1,000 square miles with a population of 84, and the third new luxury home is a waterfront mansion with spectacular views.

“It’s important to invest in yourself.

True to his words, the world’s richest man’s “shopping” was all about being bold.

In early April, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 60, purchased his third mansion on Indian Creek Island in Florida. The island is home to the third richest man in the latest edition of the “World’s Richest Man,” and is also home to former NFL players Tom Brady (46) and Ivanka Trump (42), and has only 41 homes and a golf course, the Indian Creek Country Club, with 13 security guards on duty. The only two other properties on the property are the Billionaire Bunker and the Indian Creek Country Club golf course. It is called the “Billionaire’s Bunker,” a special place where only the very wealthy are allowed to live.

Bezos’ new mansion was owned by Javier Holtz, a former banker, and was purchased for about $90 million (¥13.7 billion). Mr. Bezos is in the process of renovating two other residences he already owns on the island, and the newly purchased house will be his temporary residence. The total cost, including construction costs, is estimated to be in excess of $200 million (30.4 billion yen),” said Toshihiro Yamada, an international journalist.

Last May, Bezos reportedly became engaged to Lauren Sanchez, 54, six years his junior. In November of the same year, he moved to Florida from Seattle, Washington, where he had lived for about 30 years.

One of the reasons for the move was to focus on his business, Blue Origin, a space exploration company he founded.” In 2009, he succeeded in a short space trip of 10 minutes and 10 seconds, which made headlines. The second reason is to live near my parents, who have moved to Florida. However, there will also be a ″tax planning″ aspect. The state of Washington, where I originally lived, has imposed a 7% capital gains tax on the sale of stocks and bonds exceeding $250,000 (about $38 million) since ’22. On the other hand, Florida, where he moved to, has neither state income tax nor capital gains tax. Bezos actually sold 50 million shares of Amazon stock he owned in February of this year. It is believed that he saved at least $610 million (about 93 billion yen) in taxes by selling in Florida, a state with no capital gains tax.

Behind the purchase of the mansion, the millionaire had a shrewd objective.

Mr. Bezos is ranked third in the latest edition of the “World’s Richest Man. His total assets are $194 billion (approximately 29 trillion yen). Last year, he proposed to his fiancée (left) with a $400 million engagement ring and moved to Florida.
