In early March, many fans were waiting in front of the dressing room of Theater Creation in Hibiya (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). In the evening, the backstage door opened and out came Rie Miyazawa (50). She was dressed casually in a black turtleneck and a loose-fitting denim jacket. She walked with a slight downcast look on her face, but when approached by a fan, she stopped to sign autographs.

On the same day, a performance of the play “Bones and Scorn” was being held at the Theater Creative.

It is an original work written and directed by Keralino Sandorovich (61). It is a comedy set in a country town in a fictional country where a civil war is raging between the East and West. The story is full of black humor. What is amazing is the cast. The cast includes such talented actresses as Rie Miyazawa, Asami Mizukawa (40), Eiko Koike (43), and Keiko Horiuchi (52),” said an editor of a theater magazine.

In fact, Mizukawa had also come out of her dressing room about five minutes before this. Mizukawa, who bailed out to the staff opening the backstage door and smiled at the fans who approached her, got into the pickup truck while chatting with the staff.

Miyazawa and Mizukawa have been known to be good friends since they co-starred in NHK’s historical drama “E: Princesses of the Warring States” in ’11. On November 17 of last year, Miyazawa updated her own Instagram,

“Finally, I was able to celebrate with Yonju and Goju.

and uploaded a photo of a dinner with Mizukawa. He reported that he was finally able to celebrate the birthdays of Miyazawa, who turned 50 last April, and Mizukawa, who turned 40 in July.

We are lucky to have such sincere, pure, and funny friends. We will be together on stage from the beginning of next year.

He also mentioned that they would be co-starring in “Bones and Scorn. The expressions on their faces as they came out of the dressing room on that day showed that they were having a fulfilling day.

Miyazawa has a month-long stage production of “Orlando” (PARCO Theater) coming up in July. Mizukawa, on the other hand, just finished a well-received role as Tsuya Hanada, the mother of Suzuko Fukugi, the main character in the NHK TV series “Boogie Woogie,” and plays the mother of the 12-year-old protagonist in the film “Foggy Fuchi,” which opens in theaters nationwide on April 19 and is about a family running a ryokan in a depopulated village.

The future of these two talented actors is looking forward to more and more.
