Takahashi concealed the fact that he was married and was dating a single mother. The photo was taken just after his arrest in July 2010 (see below).

She was looking forward to getting married and having a baby, and she was at the height of her happiness, but she killed him by making it look like a suicide. This is a case that should be strongly condemned.

The presiding judge condemned the defendant’s crime in a harsh tone.

On March 4, the Tokyo District Court (presided over by Ryuta Asaka) sentenced Ken Takahashi, 45, to 20 years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, A, whom he strangled to death. Takahashi allegedly strangled Ms. A, who was 37 years old at the time, to death in an apartment in Nerima Ward, Tokyo, in March 2010.

The defense claimed that Takahashi had been asked by Ms. A to kill her. The prosecution argued that it was unlikely that Ms. A would ask him to commit suicide because she was pregnant when he asked her to marry him, and that the crime was premeditated, including sending fake messages from her cell phone.

FRIDAY Digital” reported in detail the incident committed by Takahashi, who approached Ms. A, a single mother, while concealing the fact that she was married, in an article distributed on July 10, ’22. We would like to recount the circumstances of the trouble and Takahashi’s selfish motive for committing the crime.

The first person found was the victim’s eldest daughter.

She said, “I’m going to marry him soon. My daughter needs a father.”

The single mother was said to have happily told her friends. However, the man she was dating was hiding a serious fact. He was married.

On July 7, 2010, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Investigation Division 1 arrested Takahashi, a company employee living in Soka City, Saitama Prefecture, on suspicion of murder. He strangled a single mother, Ms. A, in Nerima Ward, Tokyo, with whom he was in a relationship, and killed her. Takahashi admitted that he killed her with a rope he had prepared.

The first person to find the body was Ms. A’s eldest daughter, who was 8 years old at the time. The eldest daughter immediately informed Mr. Takahashi of the unusual situation. Her mother had told her to call Mr. Takahashi if anything happened.

After receiving the call, Takahashi visited the room and called 119, and Ms. A was pronounced dead on the spot. Mr. Takahashi explained to the investigators who arrived at the scene: “The day of the death was the day that Mr. A was found dead. He told the investigators that he had not seen her on the day of her death and that she might have committed suicide.

Mr. A. was lying on his back, with a string wrapped several times around his neck and part of it hanging on a nearby doorknob. The police began investigating both the incident and the suicide.

However, as the investigation progressed, facts that differed from the testimony of the defendant Takahashi came to light one after another. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was asphyxiation due to pressure on the neck, which was unnatural for a suicide. Although he said he had not met her, a security camera showed Takahashi visiting Ms. A’s room late at night on the day of the incident. …… It was believed that Takahashi faked Ms. A’s suicide in order to conceal his own crime.

After Mr. Takahashi strangled Ms. A, it is known that he stayed at an Internet cafe about 2 km away from the crime scene. He must have received a call from his eldest daughter and returned to the scene of the crime.

Why did Takahashi murder his girlfriend, Ms. A? Looking back at his words and actions, the background of the case becomes clear.

Takahashi got married around 2002. He met Ms. A at a party in September 2005. They started dating the following year.

At the time of the incident, Ms. A was pregnant. She lived with her eldest daughter. Takahashi sweet-talked her, saying, “Let’s get married,” and she was so pleased that she reported it to her parents and was making preparations. However, when the fact that she was pregnant was discovered, it was believed that there was some kind of trouble between them.

Ms. A served as an officer of the PTA at her eldest daughter’s elementary school, and she was a cheerful person who was well-liked by those around her. Mr. Takahashi hid the fact that he was married, deceived women for his own greed, and took their precious lives with his selfish motive. His crime is too great.
