Shohei Ohtani Aims for .350 Batting Average and 60 Home Runs with Dodgers Triple Crown Swing
The world was enveloped in surprise on February 29th when the Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani (29) announced his marriage on his Instagram account.
Ohtani, starting with the opening game against the White Sox on February 27th (local time), made a full-fledged return to the field. He immediately surprised fans by hitting a two-run home run.
“During camp, Ohtani has been experimenting with various forms, such as laying the bat down or standing it up when getting ready. Seeing Ohtani aiming for further evolution in his new environment, Manager Dave Roberts (51) is delighted, saying, ‘He’s practicing well.'” (Sports newspaper desk)
Baseball critic Takahiro Toku, said, “The key to this season’s breakthrough lies in Ohtani’s batting form when he hit a home run during live batting practice on February 19th.”
“By tilting the bat behind his back before entering the swing, it appears that he’s improving his contact rate. While there’s a risk of a slight decrease in distance due to reduced centrifugal force, Ohtani’s power is already extraordinary, so he can easily send the ball into the stands.”
While majestic 150-meter home runs are captivating, scoring points with fence-hugging home runs counts the same. Increasing opportunities to hit the ball squarely also increases the chances of hitting home runs.
“With the ideal form, he can aim for a .350 batting average and 60 home runs. 130 RBIs might also be within reach.” (Toku)
Ohtani, who expressed a positive outlook on regaining a good feeling in actual games before participating in the open games, enjoys a fulfilling private life and captivates baseball fans across the United States with his “Triple Crown Swing” version of 2024.
