Takuya Kimura is expected to appear in a sequel to his popular drama

Grand Maison Tokyo” (TBS), a drama series starring Takuya Kimura, aired in the October 2007 season. The drama was well received, with an average rating of 12.9% (Video Research, Kanto region) for all episodes, and there have been reports of a sequel for some time now.

Recently, Kimura himself, the lead actor, has been “hinting” on SNS that filming has already begun, and rumors of K-pop stars appearing in the series have also surfaced.

The film tells the story of Natsuki Ohana (Kimura), a French cuisine chef who fell on hard times after an incident, and how he revives himself as a chef by establishing the restaurant “Grand Maison Tokyo” with a female chef, Rinko Hayami (Kyoka Suzuki) and others. In addition to Kimura and Suzuki, the cast included Sawamura Kazuki, Oikawa Mitsuhiro, Kis-My-Ft2’s Tamamori Yuta, and Yoshitani Ayako.

While there have been articles about a sequel for some time, the January 2012 issue of Shukan Josei (Shufu To Seikatsu Sha, January 16 and 23, 2012) reported that the film will return in a theater version. According to the article, the film will be shot not only in Japan but also on location in Paris, France in February. Prior to the release of the theater version, the article gave specific information that a special drama was also scheduled to be broadcast in December.

Furthermore, “Josei Seven” (Shogakukan, February 15, 2012 issue) recently scooped that Suzuki, who had been recovering from an illness since last May, would return to performing during the filming of “Grand Maison Tokyo”. The report implied that Kimura, who stars in the film, is also meeting with the film’s cast.

Kimura updated his Instagram Stories on February 14. On February 14, Kimura updated his Instagram Stories with a photo of a space decorated for Valentine’s Day, with the caption, “More color at the scene. There, she wrote: “I received Valentine’s Day chocolates from Ms. Kyoka Suzuki! Thank you! ‘, so Kimura must have been at the same site as Suzuki.

As of January 20, there has been no official announcement of a “Grand Maison Tokyo” sequel, but the drama’s official website and SNS accounts have announced that the “Grand Maison Project will start” by late January this year.

Furthermore, Kimura also noted the names of his co-stars on his Instagram on January 28. He posted a picture of a candle and said, “Tamamori-kun gave it to me at the scene. I’ve been thinking about where to put it! Since Kis-My-Ft2 Tamamori played one of the main characters, Shohei Hirako, in “Grand Maison Tokyo,” it has been confirmed by Kimura and Tamamori fans that filming is underway.

Meanwhile, there is another “star” who is rumored to be in the works for the sequel.

The buzz is that Taekyung of the K-pop group 2PM may have been chosen to play the role.

According to a fan’s post on SNS, at an event last year, he mentioned that he was “going to Paris. According to fan posts on social networking sites, at an event last year, he even mentioned “going to Paris. However, perhaps because the information about the new “Grand Maison Tokyo” was not made public in the first place, Taekyeung had unfollowed three people by the 14th. On the 15th, Taekyeung posted a picture of Tokyo Tower on Stories, suggesting that he was staying in Tokyo. …… Fans are excitedly waiting for the official announcement,” he said.

The official announcement of the drama and Kimura’s Instagram page have made it clear that the “Grand Maison Tokyo” project is back on track, but who will be in the cast of the next film?
