Nagabuchi criticizes the media in a video

Singer Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi appeared on the YouTube channel “ReHacQ” [Official], which is hosted by Yusuke Narita and others.

On February 3, a video titled “The Enemy is the Media…Why I Was Always Conscious of Death Confession of a Fierce Past” was updated.

In the video, Mr. Narita and Mr. Nagabuchi face each other in a dialogue. Mr. Narita says

“Anger and violence have led me into various troubles in the past. Whether I am responsible for them or not is irrelevant.”

Nagabuchi replied

“Most of it is my responsibility.”

He laughed bitterly.

“I have a lot of regrets and repentance, but if that’s all there is, I probably would have died. So, I gritted my teeth and buried it within my work, sealed it away.”

Nagabuchi responded when Mr. Narita commented, “It’s a philosophy that allows you to keep living,”

“Even now, there are people who die from defamation and slander. It’s like they write down only the facts, trampling on people’s hearts, and sealing away the truth so that it can’t be spoken. It’s a violence stronger than physical violence. It’s frustrating, but it brings tears to my eyes.”

“The mass media can be despicable, making you want to die. It’s a fact that it’s something that digs into people’s hearts.”

He also expressed his resentment toward the mass media based on his own past experiences.

After the recording, Nagabuchi took a two-shot photo with Narita and posted it on Instagram.

“I met Yusuke Narita-kun! I love the way he uses words. I feel like he’s a modern poet. I love him because he’s intellectual and yet has hidden kindness. I want to meet him again!”

He was in high spirits. During the program, he even invited Narita to visit a history museum near Nagabuchi’s hometown, suggesting they go together in the future. It seems that Narita is a favorite of Nagabuchi’s.

However, a look at the comments section of this Instagram article reveals the following

“He’s talking all cool, but before he starts spouting off, he should apologize”

“His actions towards a weaker woman are beyond despicable.”

“This video at this timing,  seems like nothing more than an image improvement strategy.”

Various strong opinions, not all of them gentle, are lined up in abundance.

“Last November, an actress revealed in a video that she had been sexually assaulted by Musician N when they co-starred in the past. Although the video only used initials, she recently revealed on social media, ‘It was good to talk to Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi’ (now deleted).

With such timing, there has been a mix of opinions, especially on the internet, regarding Nagabuchi’s mention of ‘responsibility’ for violence and his statement about the media being despicable.” (Sports newspaper journalist)

According to some reports, Nagabuchi will retire after his Sakurajima concert in his hometown of Kagoshima, scheduled to be held in 2025. What kind of performance will he give in the future?
